My wife is disabled and prior to the new pavilion they've set up near where the old railroad tracks used to be the farmer's market tents would be set up in a slightly hilly and not quite solid grassy area in front of the Ace Hardware store's parking lot there. Me pushing her around in her wheelchair was challenging at times to say the least thanks to soft bare spots of sandy ground.
Now that's all changed for the better! Parking near the old train station is ample, with a couple of disabled spots that'd been right beside the pavilion area for a long time. It's now largely effortless to wheel up the completed paved area and browse folks' produce, baked goods, and other stuff the farmer's market attracts.
Now that the pandemic is seeing COVID19 shift into a more endemic status (with us like the flu and not as severe as when it burst onto the scene in late 2019), we'll definitely visit more often, the ease of access is the second biggest...
Read moreI've been here 3 times, and each time the EBT booth has not been there, so I was unable to use food stamps to purchase tokens for goods. The selection of produce is minimal. The Produced on the Farm milk booth is there, and they have ahimsa (cruelty and slaughter-free farm) A2 raw milk, cheese, cream, butter, yogurt, buttermilk, chocolate milk, and ice cream! (Though it can only be purchased with cash or card, and not food stamp tokens, since Florida law makes it illegal to sell raw milk products without the label "not for human consumption".) Overall I am disappointed in this market, due to the limited selection and unreliability of the EBT booth. I hope they improve in the future because it is the closest market to where I live, and I am unable to travel very often to the other markets in...
