UPDATE ON REVIEW... So what I have just realized from the "owner" review is that if you have an issue and write a honest review and it's not what the "owner" wanted she will then go to your personal page and bring your business in on it instead of dealing with the issue at hand. Oh, and let me make it clear I don't charge extra for changing the flavors of a cake, and if they want half chocolate and half vanilla flavors, it's the same price. I didn't have a problem with paying the higher price of pizza, but when you start charging for stuff that's already on the pizza, that becomes an issue. I'll leave the food at a 3 but after your reply, I'll be sure to express my opinion when asked.

I have been hearing about how amazing this place is and was super excited to see for myself. Very small area for sit down, but that was ok. As we went up to place our order, the girl was very pleasant at first. We ordered chicken wings and cheese bread, and she asked if we wanted to order another marinara for an extra $1.00. I said sure thank you for letting me know the upcharge. We asked if we could do a half Supreme and Half Meat lovers pizza, and she said yes since it's the same sauce. The Supreme was $24 and the Meat Lover's was $25 so as she began to ring up the pizza my husband noticed all the extra charges from veggies to meat and asked why all the up charges? She stated we were being charged to build our own pizza.. I stated no, we are doing half Supreme and Half Meat Lover, so why are we now being charged extra? I can see being charged the higher price for the 2, but being charged an extra 4 dollars, so now we are looking at 29 for the pizza.. that's when she started to get rude and left the register and went behind the pizza oven, and we had about 4 people just turn and stare at us. A young man was walking towards us, and as he was staring at us, he walked around the corner and left. That's when a female manager came up to us and tried to explain that was how they did things, and if we just ordered half Supreme and Half Meat Lovers, it would confuse the cooks...I stated all this extra added mess is confusing us!! And said forget it we will make it simple and order JUST a meat lovers. My husband said, "Wow, all the other places we go. This is the first time having this issue and the last one and done for us!" The female manager said ok, that's fine. After we got our wings and cheese bread my husband went up to get some forks and he said they were all standing there still talking about the issue and said when he walked up they all stopped talking and just looked at him. I will say that the wings were very good and the cheese bread was very good. The pizza, not a fan, I think it was the sauce flavor that we both didn't like. Ar the very end of the meal, my husband was going to get a box, and the female manager did come to our table and said, For all the confusion, she wanted to give us a beeramisu, which was very good and she then grabbed us a box to go. Honestly, we will stick with our pizza places in Gainesville, Leonardo's and Scolas Pizza where we don't have an issue to confuse the cooks on making a half and half pizza and we are not charged extra...

I found Prohibition Pizza online as I was searching for somewhere new to go. I live north of the restaurant in the middle of no where. Not dramatically far, but no, not in High Springs. Far enough it's a decent time consuming round trip. Not the reason for 2 stars but somewhat relevant to the review.

The biggest issue I had was that the dough was half raw. Like, a little cooked, but a substantial gooey, gummy layer of fully uncooked dough as well. Which I found odd because the pizza dough was fairly thin. I was also let down by the pizza over all. I was so excited by all the pictures and reviews. The flavor profiles of all their specialty pizzas sound great. I love unique and artisanal pizza. My first thought after noticing the raw dough was "oh well, mistakes happen. I'd be willing to give them another try." But it was just lackluster. The marinara on the pizza was bland and tasted straight out of a can. I will say the toppings were delicious. But if you can't get the basics of a pizza correct before the toppings, well, do you really have a pizza then?

Also got cheese sticks and meatballs. The cheese sticks were weird tasting. I do believe they are provolone and not mozzarella but they just were dense bricks that just tasted of funky fry oil.

The meatballs were good though! Good size and flavor.

I know this place is new, but I doubt I'd make the drive again for it. I mentioned the distance in the beginning because of course I didn't know the dough was raw until I was back home to eat it. Or I would have said something in person. I'm not driving all the way back to show them the pizza. I recommend Steak Out in High Springs. I've had their pizza countless times. It's really good and I've never been let down.

Prohibition Pizza does have lots of great reviews, and I'm happy others have had a good experience. This was probably just a one off for them. So maybe it will be better for you. But this was my unfortunate experience from my first and so far...

It's overpriced hipster pizza with bad service. When they first opened they were good but it's clear they don't have what it takes to be a long-lasting establishment. I don't think it's fully the fault of the owners. Obviously so much of a restaurant running smoothly depends on having employees that actually do their job. The last couple times that we had ordered takeout it was just inconsistent and for the price it is not worth it. I was willing to give them another chance tonight and decided to order online because we don't have anything at the house for dinner and I just wanted something easy and I do appreciate supporting local businesses. However, their online ordering system is an issue and kept flagging errors. So I tried to call two separate times, waiting 10 minutes the first time and 15 minutes the second time listening to their automated system that prompts you to order online, which is just a frustrating loop since their online ordering system sucks. While sitting here thinking about how much frustration I was feeling, I realized it was not worth dropping $80 to get a couple pizzas, a salad, and some cheesy bread when I might ultimately still end up disappointed. So instead we are just grabbing pizzas from the steakout which are always delicious and an affordable price, plus their staff is always kind and quick to answer. I really wanted to like prohibition pizza because I love the vibe of the restaurant but unfortunately like most restaurants that open in this area that seem promising. They ultimately become hipster joints with poorly trained staff and then the food goes downhill. Was hoping that was not going to be the case with prohibition, but this was the last attempt I was willing to make. Save your money. It's not worth the hassle or the cost for...

The Wine and Pizza pairing the other night was AWESOME. Please host more it was a great event!! Overview: 5/5 I am admittedly a New York pizza snob. This place passes the test with 5 stars across the board. Thank Heavens for a new restaurant choice in High Springs!!! Ambiance : 5/5 Love, LOVE, love the decor throughout this place. The women’s bathroom was AMAZING. No expense spared on new pizza ovens, plenty of tables inside and out for smaller groups. Large parties might have trouble getting seated together. Food/Drink 5/5 I order a Margarita pizza that was perfect. The crust was just right, sauce was not too sweet and fresh mozzarella and basil. Beautiful presentation. My wife had a build your own with pepperoni, mushroom, peppers and onions. It was outstanding. It was crisp on the bottom but light and not too thick. Only thing that would have made this better is a beer from High Springs brewery (which is right next door). This place is working on a liquor license so fingers crossed. They have a unique dessert with a clever name called the “Beeramisu” which is a spin-off on Tiramisu. The owner created the recipe and it was delicious. Service : 5/5 Wonderful!! Kelly the owner brought the food to our table and checked on us a couple of times. I always think it’s pretty important for a new establishment (open about month) that the owners keep tabs on the customers. Well done Kelly. Conclusion : We live in Alachua but I will have no problems jumping in a car to ride to this place. Hopefully many, many times.

Worth the short drive from I-75!!! YOU WILL LOVE THIS PIZZA! EAT HERE! Mrs. Potter the owner is an absolutely delightful hostess and chef extraordinaire! The gluten-free, dairy-free garlic "cheeze" breadsticks were phenomenal as an appetizer. Gluten- free pizza crust with vegan mozzarella was beyond delicious....most divine GLUTEN-FREE DAIRY-FREE pizza we have ever eaten (LOL and we have eaten lot of pizza!) There is something about the way the pizza crust was prepared that was to die for! Ingredients are fresh, real and without additives! Great care was taken to ensure no cross-contamination including exclusive pans, utensils, etc. Congratulations on your best pizza in Florida award for 2024!!! it is extremely well-deserved! Good luck at the next competition and we will see you again as soon as we can! Adorable character in the dining area and also had an adorable patio. Thank you for treating is so kindly and for the amazing food...finding gluten-free vegan food that is this delicious was a highlight of our trip!

Well, I came across this Pizza spot during a internet search. Had never heard of it, so I figured, why not? Took a nice Sunday drive in the afternoon to go out and try it. We were met by friendly staff. You place your order at the counter. could get it either, just sit down at 1 of their tables or they have some outdoor seating, or you can take it to go which while we were there there were numerous people coming to pick up to go orders. So that was a good sign. We got the pretzel for an appetizer, that thing was huge! We got the Margarita Pizza, which also while we were there. Three more people had ordered the same pizza, so it must be one of their more popular pizzas. Now there is no table service, so their only drink option is either bottled sodas or waters with some select bottled beers. They have a lot of historic décor in the building as that area of High springs is part of the historic area. If you're looking to get a
