They will serve you if you sit at the bar, but if you sit at a table, you must use a QR code to order, pay, tip all before you will see a glass of water. No one will come to your table.
It's a problem if you're expecting to have a server that you can speak to, ask questions about the foods or for even the littlest things you expect like silverware if it is missing from the table or if you'd like a refill on your water or drink.
They will bring the food from the kitchen to your table after your order it through your phone.
There is no staff that occasionally comes by to ask if you need or would like these things, they simply don't come through except to deliver from the kitchen. They were polite with kitchen deliveries, but once gone, they don't return.
Food was really good; atmosphere was quite nice. No complaints there. We did enjoy the dining room and the food. (with exception of really wanting sour cream for my potatoes but I was tired and not going to get up from my table, again, and go look for where or who I needed to ask to get sour cream)
Another odd thing was being asked by the app to tip prior to being served. I was paying with a card I didn't see where I would have another opportunity, so I tipped before even getting water. That is hardly how I am accustomed to this system working.
Not a bad place at all, but this system, it is something I did not enjoy. I simply found it to be disruptive to having a nice dining experience where people would check on me now and again to see if I was enjoying my food and checking to see if I needed anything. The lack of human interaction left me cold.
Hopefully they will abandon this new system, and they will hire people to do that job instead. I truly missed having a person that would know the menu help me through the process of choosing my food and then bringing anything that I might want to the table to help me enjoy that meal. I rather enjoy having the option of being generous with a tip to show my gratitude, after I have been well taken care of. You even have the opportunity to get a few tips on what to do in the small town and surrounding area. I missed not having that.
Good food, nice atmosphere, but really disliked this "order on your...
Read moreTo say the least we were excited about a new place to eat in High Springs. Unfortunately, very disappointed. When we first arrived we waited about 10 minutes before someone came to the register where you place your order. Then the lady said she suggests that you go and get a table first and then come back and order. So we went and got a table, came back and had to wait again in line to order food. Afterwards we go back to our table and then a waitress delivered an appetizer to our table which we didn’t recognize. The waitress drops it off and says nothing. We waited a few minutes to see if she would come back, she didn’t. I got up to find her with the appetizer, found her and asked what it was, she said conch fritters. I told her that we didn’t order conch fritters, she apologized and took them to the kitchen. As we are watching to see what happens because we have a view of the kitchen, another waitress just picked up those conch fritters and delivered them to the table next to us. We sat there in disbelief 🫢! Finally our cheese sticks get delivered, COLD 🥶 cheese not melted. We asked for the Manager. Manager comes and we tell her “we are not impressed”, we explain what happened and she actually argued the point. She left never to be seen or not even to check on us again. Manager needs customer service training but what does she care, you pay for your meal before you get it. That’s right, they can give you whatever they want and you can’t do anything about it. Well, the artichoke dip arrived, again cold 🥶 and with no artichokes like it had been sitting in the window forever. When the waitress comes with the hot cheese sticks, we tell her that the artichoke dip is cold 🥶. She takes it back with a sorry! Salads were delivered with no dressing and than they only brought one later and not the other. How can you eat salad without dressing? Food comes, chicken tenders are dry, fries are cold and my husbands smashed red potatoes 🥔 are whole for him to smash 💥! Well not worth the price, food was less than subpar and the service was TERRIBLE except for Madi, at least she came back to check on us and refill our drinks! I can honestly say we won’t be back, THANK YOU BUT...
Read moreWe dropped in on a Thursday evening for dinner. The first thing we saw was that the line to order food was quite long, so we decided to grab a beer first in hopes that things would settle down. We recognized the bartender as being previously employed at a different High Springs diner, one that we had stopped patronizing due in large part to his poor performance behind the bar. Even though he now has a Mini-Me to assist him, it's like pulling teeth to get a beer. He'll walk right by people who have been waiting to serve someone he knows. We were there for a couple of hours and were graced with a beer each, finally causing us to leave in frustration.
When I joined the food ordering line it had shortened a bit, but then ground to a halt when 2 small children were allowed to stare at the menu board while dad patiently explained what every item was and why the kids would like it or not.
By the time I reached the coveted register it was obvious that any dinner items wouldn't be delivered in a timely manner. So, I ordered the 2 items that I (wrongly) assumed would come out quickly and suffice as a tasty snack, pretzel bites with cheese and an order of fries. I put my order number on the table and passed the time standing at the bar, apparently imitating the invisible man since no one working the bar could see me.
When the food came, things didn't improve. The fries were sad and soggy, like an order from a happy meal only without the crispness or flavor. I suspect these arrived at the restaurant in a giant frozen bag. The $8 order of pretzels and cheese were marginally better but there wasn't a lot of food on the plate. We pushed the food around a while and headed home.
I realize this is a newer business going thru some growing pains and I wish them the best. That being said, some things are so wrong there's no way management could be unaware of them. Hopefully some positive changes will be made. Two stars since my single...
