We had a group of 90 kids (7-13yrs) that came from our summer camp. Right off the bat the manager rubbed us the wrong way with the way she designated wristbands for the swim test. By the time we got 3/4 of the way through the line, she stopped giving out green wristbands. There were several kids (swim team members) who swam perfectly and she gave them yellow wristbands instead of green (This limits the area and slides they can do). We were very confused about this and even asked if they could test again, but they were not allowed. Also, side note- myself and 2 other leaders are current active lifeguards and leaders at our pool. The kids that we were watching do this test were strong swimmers and not in any way at risk. Because over half the group could not use the full pool area, this limited the amount of space our group could use and made it seem much smaller. There was a small spray park area that they could use, but was only for 10 and under. Another red flag was a couple of the lifeguards demeanor. One at the top of one of the slides was sitting back with their feet up. Another was laughing as one of the kids was waiting ON the bottom of the small slide for his friends to run into him while going down. It just seemed unsafe to me. Also, they only had 1 person the entire time in the concession stand. She took orders, made fries, pretzel bites, and everything else. Needless to say, it was a very long wait for food. We had planned this outing weeks in advance, so it's not like they didn't know we were coming. It would have been nice to have an extra person on hand to help with concessions.
Overall, the experience here was underwhelming. Other staff members we spoke to were friendly, and many of the lifeguards were doing a good job scanning the pool. It...
Read moreNote for parents with infants under 30 lbs: they don't allow you to use swim floats here unless it is "Coast Guard approved" and they don't provide any infant floats there (the x-small size is 30+ lbs and up.)
The reason I'm giving a one star review is that we visited twice before with our own baby swim float and nobody said anything. We had a great time and it was fine. Then all of a sudden the 3rd time we visit, they ban us from using the same float. If you're going to have policies, be consistent about it. What is worse is after we decided to leave (the sole reason for going to the pool was for our 14 month old baby), they told us that they "can't process refunds" so basically took our money anyway. Best they could do is give 2 free passes for next year.
They do not check or ask you before you pay. They'll just take your money and enforce the rules later, sometimes not enforce at all. The staff here is not trustworthy or friendly, they seem half asleep most of the time. Despite their "rules" and "enforcement" I wouldn't trust them to save your...
Read moreI went to the Highland Park Aqua Park for the first time and it was amazing!! They had so much they had two slides. One of the slides went around a really cool loop and it was a chill slide. Another slide went straight down and into the water!!! It was the first slide I went on like that and it was really cool and also believe it or not that pool was the first time I went off the diving board!!!! It was so fun and I didn’t get bullied. It was so nice. The pool was extremely clean everybody there was so nice and chill And Honestly, it should be open all year round because the pool was the best and it was also such a clean place and there was such a cool splash pad and it also had a deal where you could have soda bottle for $20 and use it for the rest of the year!!! It was probably one of the best public pools I went to and everything was so clean and nice and it was even better than one of the private pools I go to. I definitely...
