Our 1st choice for family photos fell through and Prather Park was our second choice so I went to view the area. I visited this place mid June 2023 and it was a day or two after a huge thunderstorm came through. This is a very beautiful place. It has a community pool, playground, tennis courts, walking trails/sidewalks, bridges, and benches throughout the park. There is a creek that runs through it and the sound of the running water was very peaceful. The landscaping is done beautifully and there is ample shade throughout the grounds. There is even a tunnel to walk through. I gave it 4 stars because there was a lingering stench of sewage. Considering its location to Highland Park and University Park it was a little disappointing. Read moreThere is a nice, although small, parking area for this park on Lexington between St Johns and Drexel. The southeast corner of the park is also where a tennis court lies, down some steep stairs (no handrail) over the bridge and across the stream. The word that comes to my mind at the park is "lush". A beautiful canopy of trees and a carpet of various variety of greenery. Continuing on the trail, approximately parallel with the stream, next is a wonderful sculpture garden of whimsical, happy dwarves, gnomes and fairies. They'll put a smile on your face!
