I have been fairly loyal to Hush Hush tan for a few years because the artists they had when I first started coming always took their time, had you do the best poses for the most even tan, and left you with a great tan most of the time. That said, I’ve always had one gripe with Hush Hush that I had always just accepted even though I never had the same issue anywhere else, even at cheap tanning salons: no matter what, I’ve always felt the most wet and constricted in my movements after leaving Hush Hush tan. The quality of the tan and its application in the past made me willing to overlook this annoyance (even though a few times this has caused issues of smearing post application in the past). The last few times I’ve come to Hush Hush this issue has had me questioning why I even come here since the application has decreased in quality as well. I have gotten rapid tans elsewhere where most other salons have sufficient fans that dry you up enough to feel comfortable leaving or even use handheld blow fans that the artists will actually use on the client themselves to ensure they are dry enough to leave. With Hush Hush, the fans are so bad you that you either wait for 15 minutes praying you are dry enough to leave or else risk messing up your tan immediately by either putting your clothes on or by putting your seat belt on in the car. Well, for a $60 tan + tip, it’s pretty crazy that I’ve put up with this nuisance for so long when it’s a problem I don’t experience anywhere else. Anyways, today, my spray tan artist’s application was so fast and so uneven that my neck was missed and came out splotchy and I am missing tan in random areas. I also unfortunately have a line from my seatbelt because the 10 minutes I waited this time for the tan to dry wasn’t enough with the poor fan that was in the room. Really disappointed and unfortunately think this will be my last visit after coming here for years since the positives of this place have decreased and no longer make up for the negatives. I’d rather go to Tan Dallas - Something you wouldn’t hear me saying if you had asked me a few years ago. My suggestion to Hush Hush is to invest in better fans #1 and secondly, ensure care and mastery of spray tanning in your spray tan artists to be consistent for each client, each time, so that they can always trust that care will go into every application and can feel confident each time...
Read moreI don’t get regular spray tans, but I was wanting to get one for my wedding day. I went in 2 days ago and being a first timer, I was pleased with how the girls were so sweet and made me feel comfortable! The girl at the front was asking me about my wedding day while I waited for the spray tan. The girl who actually did my spray tan was also awesome and gave suggestions when I wasn’t sure about something (spraying my face, etc.) The tan went great and I left satisfied!
The next day, my faint tan lines from last summer were still very noticeable - no big deal, probably my fault for not specifying that my dress is strapless and I’d like those to be covered. But then again, I’m a first timer and they’re the experts? They get me in for a touch up on my upper body, but still charged me upper body price. Maybe I was expecting too much by thinking it would be free - I’m a first timer so maybe I just don’t know how it goes. I tipped 20% anyways. Since there is not a mirror in the spray tan room, I asked both the gals working if they could see tan lines and they said no.
I get home, look in my bathroom mirror, and I STILL see a hint of tan like, but maybe I’m imagining it since I’ve been staring at my body for so long. Plus, the gals said there wasn’t a tan line and they’re the experts!
Fast forward to now. The tan lines are most definitely there. My wedding is in 5 hours and at this point, I’m hoping the photographer is good with photoshop because there’s no hiding my uneven skin in my strapless, low cut dress.
I would give 1 star, but the girls were so nice and professional despite everything else. Maybe don’t go here if you’re...
Read moreAfter-Hours Fee Communication I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent experience at your Dallas location. I arrived at 7:50 p.m., knowing that your posted hours indicate an 8:00 p.m. closing. I was informed by the front desk (Grace) that walk-ins were cut off at 7:15 p.m., but she kindly offered to accommodate me if I was willing to wait. I appreciated the flexibility, and I waited until about 8:15 for the spray. However, I was then told there would be a $15 after-hours fee--a charge that wasn't mentioned upfront when I agreed to wait. Had that been communicated clearly before the delay, I would have declined the service, as the total would have exceeded $50. My concern isn't with the fee itself but with the lack of transparency. I didn't see any reference to an after-hours charge on your website or booking confirmation, and it wasn't brought up until after the wait. That lack of clarity made the experience feel frustrating and avoidable. I'm sharing this in hopes that you'll consider updating your communication practices so customers can make informed decisions before committing...
