My daughter and grandchildren visited Nanticoke, PA 18634 store #152 on 6/12/25. While checking out at the self check out a store representative approached my granddaughter and stated “I can take that grocery basket for you.” My daughter thanked her and then continued looking for her credit credit to pay the balance of her order. Next the store representative slide a device into the credit card machine. My daughter felt uncomfortable and asked her what she was doing. She stated it’s a scammer machine. At that time my daughter did not know what a scammer machine or why she would decide to do this doing her transaction. My asked to times for clarification but ultimately walked away concerned that this women may have stole her credit card information. My daughter reached to the store and asked to speak with the manager. The stated his name was Steven. He stated that the scamming machine is used in his store several times a time and that he has had to uses the scamming machine during a persons check out, but he is older and has always explained what is was doing. He also shared that younger people (his staff) sometimes need to be trained in customer service. He stated that he had three representatives that are currently working and that he would have a discussion with them about customer service. He agreed that she should have waited until check out process was completed. I asked my daughter to describe the store representative that used the scamming machine looked like, she stated that she was a full figure woman in her late twenties with dark brown hair. asked him for her name because I was going to file a complaint. He placed me on an unmuted pause, while he explained to her supervisor what was going on and she told him that he could not share that information. When he returned to the call, he told me that he could not provide with her name. So if anyone goes into this store because don’t expect to be treated with respect or courtesy. Oh I forgot, Steven said that no one has ever complained about this happing to them. Either Steven was not being honest or he is a...
Read moreVery clean and well stocked, with competitive prices. Almost never go to Shop Rite anymore... I can't even tell you how thoughtful their staff is time and time again. Recently recovering from surgery, I still need the electric scooter in order to shop. The one day, all 4 scooters were in use, so I walked. Bad decision. By the time I arrived at the attended register (as opposed to the DIY), I was about to pass out from the pain from my surgery. I must not have looked too good, as the wonderful, observant TEENAGER at the register asked me if I was okay. I usually say yes if that happens, but this time, she didn't wait for my reply. She immediately helped me get to the bench, to sit, and told me not to worry. She checked me out, came to where I was sitting (10 to 15 feet away) asked me for my card, (to pay). In the interim, she had called for someone to bring me an electric cart (I guess one became available), and had the young man escort me out to my car AND he loaded everything in my car for me, AFTER he helped me into & get settled in the car. He refused the tip I tried to give him, saying it was his pleasure!! Now THAT'S service!! This is one of the reasons why I love Weis Supermarkets. No matter how busy they are, they really make you feel like you are the only customer who matters! BTW, anyone who says that today's teenagers are lazy and self-absorbed, go to Weis and see...
Read moreThis was my go-to store for lots of things, but on my last two visits, one item from each visit was expired. I didn’t catch the first one until I got home and was making dinner and almost used the ingredient (a lime-based taco sauce) and saw it expired in July of 2021. I returned that for a refund. Today, I was picking up some odds and ends and grabbed a bag of pre-cooked hard-boiled eggs. Luckily, I saw the date on the package just after I scanned it and it said it expired in October of 2021. The sales associate quickly took it off my order and wrapped it in a plastic bag and apologized, so the staff is always nice, so that’s good, but you really need to stress to your stockers to check and rotate as they work. Also, a week ago you guys had a ton of the Weis sparkling waters mixed in with the seltzer bottles and I mistakenly bought a few bottles but couldn’t drink them as they contain aspartame and that stuff gives me a headache. I took those back to exchange them for seltzer and was told I couldn’t due to the Covid-19 return policy of “no returns unless merchandise is defective” yet I’m pretty sure I didn’t see any signage for that at customer service but maybe it was in a spot where I couldn’t see. I usually don’t write about stuff like this but I thought it would be helpful for management to see so they can make corrections...
