River Park runs along the Eno through downtown Hillsborough. It's a nice trail- largely paved, although there are some small natural areas and also a boardwalk. It connects to Gold Park at one end, and is part of the MST (mountain to Sea) trail. It connects to a path that comes out by Vietri factory. Crossing the road in front of the factory leads you to the Oconeechee speedway and connects to a series of other trails off of the speedway.

Is a nice little hike sometimes it can have a smell because of being close to the river. However it's very picturesque and the lawns are often used for events. I would recommend wearing bug spray especially in summer because there is a number of mosquitoes. It is completely accessible to children and elderly folk with mobility issues. There are signs along the trail which give a lot of information about the local area.

There are no restrooms. However Weaver Street is located not far off the trail and the boardwalk leads to Weaver Street. There are one or two picnic benches and a few benches. It is very dog friendly and people often are walking dogs, riding bicycles, or running along the trail. It's...

Parking at the Farmers Market.

The park itself has a large grassy shaded area with a couple of benches. A section of the Riverwalk is here (paved and unpaved) and it may confuse some with the signage. No worries as you won't get lost or anything. There are signs along the Riverwalk that read you are entering/leaving the park.

The Occaneechi Indian Village is close by off...

Great paved walkway through historic Hillsborough that is always busy with walkers. This is not a path for "hiking" but more for strolling, walking dogs (lots of dogs), and just perusing the area. At one end was the makeshift Occoneechee village that was created. An enjoyable stroll that took about an hour.
