my 17yr old daughters best friend is at Evergreen. The young lady who passed away before she was 21. My daughter decided after 6 months she wanted to visit the grave site. We went to the Main Office to find out her location. I was able to see something on the computer monitor that I should not have seen, but I did. I will no mention it. But there was this guy in the office I believe he may have been one of the ground keepers and he volunteered to take us to her. He sped down the paths so quickly, we barely could keep up. Once we arrived I was flabbergasted. The area was so unkept and there were headstones turned topsy turvey and mini nips of alcohol bottles everywhere. He got out of his truck an walked to an area that was freshly grassed over and he took his foot and tap on the ground and said, "she's right here"! Because it was my daughters first visit to a cemetary, I did not comment or show my disdain for how this young girl, who suffered most of her life was put to "rest"..but she did, she could not understand how her best friend's resting place looked like a construction site. If you think I am exaggerating go to section "W". Figure...
Read moreI went their for the first time since my parents were buried there(4 years)and first off the lady in the office gave me a map circling where my parents could be found(they are not buried in the same section.I was surprised to find that there were no signs to direct or let you know you were in the correct place. I called back to the office and the lady told me it cost to much money to buy signs...A wooden or metal sign cost to much !!! outrageous !! The entire place was unkept with leaves and trash and turned over graves..It was sad to know this is how little Evergreen cares about the final resting place of our loved ones. I believe that a portion of the money that is paid for plots are supposed to go into a maintenance fund, get those leaves up, clean up the trash and upright the headstones....SHAME ON YOU EVERGREEN...
Read moreSigh..... This cemetery used to be so beautiful, peaceful. My dad is buried there and has been for many years (unfortunately). I went there today due to reports of alleged issues going on there. First my father's headstone was toppled over as well as many others in the area where he is located. The grounds were NOT as well kept as in the past. The grass is patchy and the maintenance is subpar. I get Covid deaths are probably very overwhelming for the employees, but please come on. Family members don't want to go the a gravesite to see it so unkept. It's heartbreaking. I did speak with someone in the office about the gravestone. I do hope it will be handled rather...
