Jennifer's Bridal — Attraction in Hockessin, Delaware

I went to Jennifer’s bridal last minute for my dress because the originally one I purchased from another store I was not in love with. So someone had recommended me to come here because they have great wedding gowns. I went in the shop on a Sunday just to browse not thinking I would find a dress that day. Little do I know I found a Hayley Paige dress in the window that I could not stop staring at. I asked if there was anyway I could try just this one dress on the one lady told me no with a mean attitude and said that I needed an appointment and there was none today and walked away from me. Rude was my first thought But I couldn’t leave without trying this dress on so I spoke to Beca who was a huge help to me and was able to squeeze me in later that Sunday before closing she was a huge life saver. Well I left feeling like a million bucks but than recently received an e-mail my dress was in. I called to see if I could set an appointment up for a fitting and seamstress and was told I would receive a call back because everyone was busy. Days go by and I finally received a call stating I could come in on a Monday. Well considering I work 3 hours away there was no way I could make a Monday so I Kindly called back and asked for another date and was told they would speak with Jennifer the owner and get back to me. Whelp I have have had to called 4 times with no resolution or response from the owner, so I called to just pick the dress up to have someone else fit me and alter the dress. When I called an apology was given and stated they are really busy at this season. It’s great they are busy but maybe more employees are needed during this time of season??! I can not recommend Jennifers Bridal enough. When I went to the shop I was not sure that I would be buying my wedding dress that day. I was nervous, insecure and wasn't sure what to expect. I am not the most "girliest" of girls and was not sure where to even start. Right away Jenn that helped us knew my Mom and gave us this overall extremely welcoming hometown feel. She was so kind that all of my nerves just seemed to wash away.

I was able to fully be myself! My Mom and I were able to laugh, ask questions and just really enjoy the experience together. Jen got to know my style and started recommending dresses I wouldn't have been confident in choosing for myself (and they were beautiful!). After trying on about six or seven dresses we all came to the conclusion that the first dress I tried on was it.

This dress was EVERYTHING on my wedding day. My spouse and I chose to Elope in Norway. Our day included different weather conditions, sandy beaches, mud and dirt and lots of hiking and this dress was a pure champion. It was so comfortable and hardly has any stains on the bottom of it. It traveled beautifully to Norway from Philadelphia and I felt like woodland fairy in it the entire time.

Jen is the best!! I started my wedding dress shopping at Jennifers and found my dress at my first appointment. I had appointments at 2 other places and I told Jen I didn't want to settle and I wanted to see what else was out there. Jen was patient, so kind and also hilarious and encouraged me to explore other designers and bridal shops- the entire experience was amazing and there was NO pushiness whatsoever.

I went to my other appointments and the other salons were a complete turn off (pushy, saying anything to get me to buy a dress at their shop) - NOTHING like my experience at Jennifers. Needless to say I promptly returned to Jennifers to purchase my gown. They have a huge selection and they make the dress buying experience all about you. I really felt like I was the most important girl in the world every time I was there. I returned to buy both my veil and jewelry at Jennifers and looked forward to every alteration appointment so I could see the staff at Jennifers! It was worth the almost hour drive everytime!

Sidenote: I am not sure if they are doing bridesmaids dresses anymore but I did purchase all of my bridesmaid dresses through Jennifers as well - that process was painless and they had a really nice selection when I was choosing dresses! Kayla was also great...
