Kayak Launch. A kayak launch was added to Holden Beach Park. There are actually two launch points at the dock along the intercoastal waterway, beside the water tower. Unload at the end of Davis Street with parking along the side. Lots of boat and jet ski traffic during tourist season but there is a "No Wake Zone" here due to a boat launch and multiple marina and rental shops. Stay to the far side and be aware of boating activity. At high tide, there are some great marshes to explore heading west.

Great public park. Very clean overall, and everything was nicer than expected. Amenities include a splash pad that my three year old loved, extensive playground, basketball court, covered picnic pavilion (adjacent to splash pad and basketball court), boat dock available to reserve, and air conditioned bathrooms. Parking is free and plentiful.

Nice playground with sun shades over the swings. The splash pad is open 10 to 6 daily, but it is difficult to figure out. First you have to turn on the timer on the post on the far side of the picnic shelter. Then you have to stomp on the small blue dome with the raindrops.

Love this place... Great way to spend a hot sunny afternoon with the kids. Splash pad is little, but works perfectly for them to cool off and play in the water when they need a break from the playground. New covered picnic area right next to the Splashpad with plenty of seating and a soda machine makes for the ideal spot to relax and keep an eye on the kiddos. All this nestled between the Atlantic ocean and Holden beach on one side, and the ICW with a great view on the other. A must visit during the warm...

Really clean Beach with beautiful water. I am not sure if this area has been dredged or not but we were in at low tide and it looks like the beach is very steep between low tide and high tide. In other words when the tide is in you don't have to go far out into the water before you're up to your shoulders. It's the weekend of the 4th of July and it's very busy but I personally think that Holden Beach is better than Sunset Beach...
