Fun Mountain was the LEAST fun our family had in Branson. The horse stables that were there before were so much better. This place is chaotic, and not for the reasons you would expect such as children screaming and running everywhere. There was a lot of that, but that’s not why I’m leaving this review. When you enter through the front doors, there’s a front desk. It’s one of those things where you’re kinda forced to make a decision right away when you really have no idea what you’re purchasing. There’s a line, it has to keep moving, and nothing is ever really explained about how the pricing works. They have you sign a waiver on your cell phone (that you scan with a QR code). With shotty service down here in Branson that took a while. We all knew for sure we wanted to do the go karts, it was the whole reason we went there. The younger kid at the admission counter for the go karts was completely overwhelmed with the Labor Day crowd, yet he was the only one there. He told us everyone else was on break, meanwhile there’s at least 50 people in line for the go karts. We had 7 people in our party. After he fumbled to get the family in front of us checked in, he got to us and could not grasp the concept that my brother and I were there as a family with our kids, and that even though we had the same last name, we are not married and have two separate arcade cards. No matter how many times we had to explain this, it just didn’t register. It was wild! He ended up just using my brothers arcade card for all 7 of us, and not my card for my family. Which meant we had to go back up to the front desk to get that worked out. We opted to wait until after the go karts bc we had already waited in line for 20 minutes. When we finally get pass the admission desk for the go karts, we were told the employees were on break for another five minutes. But we stood there for nearly 15 minutes (so 35 minutes total now of waiting in a line). Which, hey - Labor Day weekend lines will be long. But this place wasn’t packed at all!! It was actually surprising for Labor Day weekend! It was almost eerie how dead it was. We finally get out to the go karts, walk down the ramp and waiting at the gate, and the kid that was supposed to let us in is just sitting there texting. A long line of people and he’s just standing there on his phone texting. Kids hot and hungry, tired of waiting in line. I think the strangest thing about Fun Mountain is that I didn’t see one adult employee the entire time we were there. All teenagers. The restaurant was empty, but we were told we couldn’t sit outside bc there was 7 of us and they just sat a 5 top out there before us. The five top was the only other table on the patio. I was a server for over ten years and know this dining room wasn’t that busy. This is supposed to be a family oriented place yet they’re not staffed on a holiday weekend to sit a 5 top and a 7 top on the patio at the same time. This isn’t a 5 star dining establishment, it’s an arcade diner. Overall, very understaffed (like physically need more bodies there AND need adults to keep these teenagers moving - they have absolutely zero hustle And initiative). We left Fun Mountain with headaches and completely underwhelmed. We will...
Read moreFor as much money as Johnny Morris has you would think with a family friendly place they’d be more practical. My 9 year old daughter and I went to Fun Mountain today for the first time and the guy behind the customer service was telling us about the arcade options. He told us to play for an hour unlimited it would be $30 each. I thought that’s a little pricey but if you can get enough tickets to get her excited for a prize then it’s be ok. So we got this card, played for an hour, and accumulated over 2000 tickets. Then when she went to get a prize they told her she had no tickets. He told me she can’t get a prize since we purchased the hour arcade pass. I asked him what sense does that make. So when we went to purchase, the attendant NEVER mentioned that you didn’t get tickets he was just selling. It was in small print under the options, “tickets not dispensed”. We were visitors hoping that the people working here would be honest and good to people. I’m very disappointed as was my daughter because she loves the arcade so she can win prizes and I spent $60 to play for an hour and got nothing for it. That shouldn’t even be an option, all it does is rip people off. I will let my family and friends know how we were treated. My little girl even went back to the service desk after I spoke to them because that’s how upset she was and the guy behind the counter laughed at her and told her he’s not giving her any tickets. How despicable is that? Like they can’t afford a cheap toy to make a little girl happy after we spent that much at the arcade and at their restaurant. Which was nasty as well. Sorry for the rant but as a single mom, money doesn’t grow on trees and this was our one vacation...
Read moreWent here April 2021. Cool place, lots of fun stuff to do, if you have a large pocket book and like to throw money away. 7 minute Go-cart ride cost $40 for our family of 4, we were the only ones on the track, pretty boring race. Multiple arcade games didn't give the proper amount of tickets, they need to be recalibrated. Games were fun and I played specific ones in order to win tickets but the games give less tickets than advertised on the machine. I should have had at least additional 500 tickets.
Also wasn't comfortable with the covid safety protocols in place. With mask mandates lifted, it's like a free for all. Social distancing is suggested and hand sanitizer is readily available. However, didn't see any extra sanitizing going on in the arcade. I was there for a few hours, never saw any employees wiping down or sanitizing the joysticks, buttons, and knobs in the arcade. Maskless employees are unable to social distance and are in direct physical contact with all sorts of people helping them put on and check harnesses for the rope courses. Seems a little hypocritical to suggests social distancing and keeping hands clean and have employees with in inches of others faces, touching people, and not wiping down commonly touched surfaces.
If the games worked properly and I saw a little effort put into basic health safety 4 stars would be in order. Can't give 5 because the food is ridiculously priced and attraction fees are a little...
