I've always liked Aldi; my mom introduced me to it when I was young. I prefer to buy my everyday essentials there because of the great value, only going to other stores for specific name-brand or specialty items.
However, as prices have risen across the board, Aldi hasn't been exempt. I've noticed that their prices have increased, such as the pretzel rods, which are now priced around one-third of an hourly wage for many low-income shoppers. Additionally, I've observed a decline in the quality of certain items I've enjoyed for years. For instance, the peanut butter pretzels are no longer what they used to be since they've added malt to the recipe. Many products now contain bioengineered ingredients, which is concerning. I find myself having to check labels for items I’ve always bought because what didn't contain bioengineered ingredients last week might this week. Just recently, I had to return two bags of potato puffs because of this issue. It's disheartening to see this trend, and if things don’t change, it might reach a point where buying Non-GMO food at stores becomes nearly impossible.
Also, they should fix the wheels on their carts. If I have to rent the cart, I shouldn't be dragging it through the store on three wheels bc the fourth wheel is stuck or broken, crumbled to heck. Then you can't easily just choose a different cart bc they are all locked together needing a quarter to release, which makes it time/energy consuming to pick through and find a decent rolling cart. At least they could put they broke carts in the back of the cart line, so it like last choice carts. They are usually the very first ones...
