Dearborn Market, on Rte. 35 in Holmdel, New Jersey, is a relatively small, but well-stocked store that has a very good greengrocer section, adequate though limited selection of other boxed food items, although it is known for its bakery and delicatessen sections, which feature many locally iconic products such as a good selection of meats, cheeses, soups, mac n' cheese, sandwiches made-to-order, a wide selection of cookies and other desserts and well-made delicious sandwiches.  Dearborn Market also sells a small selection of the well-known David Bradley Chocolates.  In the greenhouse, there is a wide selection of plants and pottery, everything that is needed for making Fairy Gardens, growing orchids, cacti and many other house plants.  There is a friendly, helpful staff available to help with your indoor gardening needs. Dearborn Market is an upscale family-owned market that has been a staple business in Holmdel, NJ since the early 1980s. In 2015, the family sold it to Saker ShopRite, which manages 29 other ShopRite stores in Central New Jersey.

We went to the orchid show. The flowers were beautiful and set up very professionally like a mini philly flower show, in their back garden center. The rest of the market had alot of fresh specialties, full selection of meats, cheeses, produce local and organic. There is a bakery section with a case full of goodies and coffee from all over, as well as a fresh pie area. The garden center has additional plants flowers, garden supplies and unusual containers for terrariums, succulents and fairy gardens. While I enjoyed the show, I would go there for special events. I would not shop there as a supermarket as they were very expensive.

What a great place to shop! It has been on my list to come and checkout and Dearborn Market didn't disappoint me. The store was clean and had a great variety of fresh foods. Too bad the store wasn't a little bigger because the aisles are narrow. The homemade meals to go tap into everyone's taste buds from pizza, pasta, fresh fish and comfort foods. The deli, fish and meat departments were well packed with great selections. Dont forget to pick up some plants that greet you at the entrance. It was worth the drive from North Jersey and I will return.

INSPECT YOUR PLANTS FOR PESTS BEFORE PURCHASING! Garden center has really gone downhill. For the past 8 months at least, every time you walk in there, you’ll find spider mites, thrips, mealybugs, fungus gnats, snails, and every other pest that you can think of; they do not seem interested in doing anything about the problem, and I suppose they don’t have to when people will buy the plants anyway. The average consumer is unaware of what a plant pest is, and therefore have no idea when the plant dies that it was not due to improper care, but the fact that the plant was already infested when they purchased it. I used to love Deerborn, but now I can’t buy my plants here because it’s not worth the risk of bringing the pest infestation home and possibly infecting my entire indoor collection. It’s a shame, because there were several plants that I would’ve loved to of purchased when I visited the other day, but unfortunately, they weren’t in good health and had pests. ( I’ve gotten spider mite infestations in my indoor garden more than once thanks to Dearborn) I saw a beautiful Monstera Deliciosa Thai constellation in a 1 gallon pot that I would’ve loved to purchase for around $300, however, the plant was infested with thrips, and especially with a plant that large it would’ve been a nightmare to deal with and could have infected my whole collection. And there’s no guarantee that you’d ever clear the thrips infestation with a plant that large. When someone spends that much money on a plant from your shop, they deserve much better than that, they deserve better than to bring home a nightmare that they’re going to have to spend weeks of their time and hard earned money trying to deal with, and it still might die....

Love love this Dearborn Market! So many fresh items to choose from! A nice selection of baked breads, cakes, pies, desserts! I bought a few sleeves of assorted chocolate covered pretzels! Chocolate is smooth and not too sweet on the pretzels. Really good! $16.99 for 12, a good price for gourmet pretzels! I’ve purchased a few fresh meats. The pork chops were fresh and lean yet tender when cooked. I bought the boneless pork chops. I went to the deli to get sandwich cold cuts- low salt Turkey breast, good! I also purchased some mozzarella bow tie salad with the peppers combined. That was really delicious! Not too garlicky. I’ve also bought semi prepared Milanese chicken breast cutlets. So easy for dinner- just add sauce and bake, very easy to do and they were moist! I bought the prepared stuffed shells! Yum! I spent over $150. on the first trip, got home to find that I was charged for three sleeves of chocolate pretzels instead of two. I called up Dearborn Market and told them of the overcharge. The store manager was so nice and said to come back to the store and she will give me a credit. I went in the next day, bought my recipe and got a credit for the overcharge. Thank you Dearborn Market! And~ of course I bought more delicious food! The semi prepared foods in the refrigerator sections are great for quick dinners. It’s not expensive because there’s no waste. I my family there are three of us, if we’d like quick dinners during the week, this is the place that has everything! You save a lot because there’s no...

ive been holding my tongue for awhile now but i cant anymore. the place has clearly gone downhill since it basically became an expensive shoprite, but my real concern is the fact that when i worked there, my managers had no care for my health or well being (only some coworkers). i was only supposed to be part time but they were working me 40-46 hours with one day off at the age of 19/20 and it was my first job. they completely took advantage of me because i didnt know any better. they didnt listen to my availability or worked with me at all. they only care about making money and youre not allowed to get sick or have problems outside of work. its not a healthy work environment at all and they should really do better. they lied to my boyfriend about switching him back to his department after not talking to him about switching him in the first place and they didnt listen to his request of getting more hours during the week. if money is the problem they should stop hiring new people and give the workers they already have a better chance. it is not the same place i worked at back in 2020/21 and its disappointing to hear my boyfriend constantly say how terrible work is for him when it shouldnt be since hes been there from like 2018. anyway no hard feelings but i know some people wont speak up and everyone i know whose left, all...
