Went here to eat on a Friday evening and let me just say the food was atrocious. I guess I made the mistake of ordering food off their menu besides pizza because it really is just a pizza joint. The fried calamari was rubbery, tasteless, and the breading slid right off. Rice balls same thing, tasteless. Mozzarella sticks, well I give them credit here it’s the only thing you can’t possibly mess up right, frozen mozzarella sticks, into the fryer, onto the plate and that’s it. For dinner I got the grilled chicken with spinach. Out came two thin slices of chicken breast with a side of spinach drenched in oil. $20 for that by the way. I can buy a whole chicken at a farm for cheaper than $20. To top it off and I wish I was making this up but my girlfriend’s pasta had a hair in it. Nice enough to take it off the bill. Only thing I’d get here is pizza and a coke. Mozzarella sticks, fried calamari, two rice balls, a coke, and two thinly cut slices of chicken and lubed up spinach came to $60. Last time...
Read morePleasant, typical Italian/pizza restaurant decor- wise. There the typical ends...the food is amazing! I have to admit I have not eaten lots of different dishes YET! But the sauce (or gravy) is delish. And yes, I make my own! The baked stuffed shells were stuffed into my mouth. The cavatelli and broccoli my husband enjoyed was properly made. No pasta substitute instead of cavatelli and flavorful olive oil, not butter and water when it's too dry! Can you imagine we had that at another restaurant? And they charged us more! Villa is reasonably priced and they have desserts, the ones you would expect. Cheesecake,Tartufo, Tiramisu...and expect a full menu of pizza, pan pizza, Grandma's pizza, White broccoli...lots of selection. Great for...
Read moreFood is amazing. Service less so. Went for Mother’s Day lunch with my mother, grandmother and family. Somehow 4 of the 6 entrees came out fine. Everyone else was done yet we had to wait on a pizza and a Stromboli. How those take longer than baked pasta dishes, I couldn’t tell you. There were only two other parties eating in, so it wasn’t a rush issue. The wait staff said sorry, but they didn’t offer to comp either dish. It’s not really a family lunch if most of the family is done before my food even arrives. Good thing it’s New Jersey and great pizza is abundant, so I don’t have to give them my...
