Definitely the safest and most interesting place in downtown Holyoke. A feast for urban explorer with many paper mills open for outside exploration - for better or worse most buildings are well-secured - so external exploration only. Several examples of architecture by DH & AB Tower (David Horatio and Ashley Bemis Tower - 'Towers of Holyoke') who were the fathers of modern paper mill engineering. The bridge next to the park (Appleton St) can get you to all three levels of the canals where the mills are. You can spend a good portion of the day walking the canals so plan accordingly. Read moreWe absolutely love this place! My 3 year old has so much fun here every time we go. Every activity has something cool to learn or is just plain fun! Our favorite part is the curvy climber, the little ones love crawling around and up and down, and adults can fit in there too for a nice little workout! We also come here for a Christmas party every year and it is always a good time. If you live in the area I would highly recommend coming here with the kids. Bonus, there's also the merry go round...
Read moreI would like to see this park during a non Covid, warm day. I Love the walkways along the canal that opened up to views of Holyoke's industrial grittiness and old mills. There is a small playground, a giant Flywheel and some other attractions in the park. An old school carousel was shuddered when we visited and there is a pay to enter children's museum that abuts it.
