TL;DR: investing in Jon Dila and his skills when it comes to developing your photos, purchasing a camera, or just learning about film cameras, was not a bad idea and i have not even thought about going anywhere else to get my next rolls developed :)

I met Jon Dila in Providence on a day where i was out adventuring with my newly purchased film camera. little did i know i was operating the camera entirely wrong. i didnt have my film wound to even snap one photo. so i asked Jon for some help, seeing that he too had a nice film camera with him. After a brief walk and talk regarding our love for photography, we went our ways and i continued to shoot more rolls. as soon as i completely used up all the film i had, i shipped the rolls off to the man himself, Jon Dila. I kid you not, the day those rolls reached JD, they were done the same night. All i’ll say is that the quality of the scans was impeccable. I even chose to have the borders left on the photos for a few rolls. at the end of the day, not only was i stunned by the beauty of the final product, but i was also very appreciative of the quality of the scans, the constant communication, as well as receiving the original negatives within 3 days of seeing my scans!!!

For years I have been trying to find a decent lab in Mass, but the ones I have been trying either made some mistakes, or always had something just a bit off. I just got scans back from sending some film to Jonathan for the first time and I am SO happy with the results, and also the turnaround time. He proactively emailed me a few days ago to let me know when I could expect the scans, while many other labs you are just left waiting and wondering. The download folders are also specifically named with what each roll was, which may not seem like a big deal to some but places even in big cities still don't do that and they will just send you folders named "012015" or something automated. Can’t understate how much I appreciate Jon’s work as a Western Mass local who loves film photography. I’ve had previous experience with other local film developers that, while equally positive and friendly, was ultimately dissatisfying because of the quality of what I received back. I brought Jon a batch of disposable cameras that my husband and I gave out as fun wedding favors.
