James Archer Smith Park — Attraction in Homestead

Me,my sister and my mom were going to the park cuz me and my lil sis wanted to get wet but we didnt know they opened later (also when this happened i moved to homestead so we didn't know much) so we waited my dad was not with us because he went to look for an apartment my mom was laying down on the bench(not to be racist) two black kids in bikes were "drinking"water and we didn't care after minutes mom told us lets go for a walk we got up(FYI my mom brought her purse)as we were walking the same two black kids came up to us one pointed a gun to my own mother!!!!! And told her to give him her bag or he would shoot and for the safety of us she handed him her bag and they ran to the side of the street and started to look through her bad those stupid kids looked like hungry raccoons she lost everything that day cellphone numbers cards with out names her identification card she was scared and because of all thoes tall trees no one saw what happened she saw a person that worked there and told him what happened he got on his car and went to look for them but came back saying they were gone they told her to come back another day and check if they found her purse my mother didn't want to go back ever since that day me,my sister and mom were affected if we saw a black person on a bike we would...

This park has great potential but I did not feel safe visiting here. We came on noon during the week and there were a couple people walking around the park but it was otherwise pretty empty. We walked over to the splash pad which was disappointing since it doesn't turn on until 430pm. There was a young man standing by the splash pad on his phone but watching us. A couple minutes later another young man came up beside us also on his phone but not speaking, almost like he was pretending to be on the phone. We were alone besides these 2 men so we decided to head to the car. On the way to the car a female appeared with a hooded sweatshirt on in the middle of summer also on her phone and catching up to us quickly. Its absolutely nasty.....!! Brand new park....bottles of beer ,the lawn without trimming....water park without water in summer..??!!....them selfish punks who is on charge of these public facilities should be working with pride....nothing to compare with the parks of doral......maybe because "its homestead"???....I dont know how whomever got this survey in function.......seems to me like its bureaucracy at its best.......fix that park and give the maintenance it required and stop asking these utopia and ironic questions......" tax at work" ....hu???!!
