I never really liked this place, even back when they had their 2nd location, although their 2nd location was significantly better looking, the staff there were always rude. The original spot isn't much better as far as customer service either. I've only had breakfast the few times I've gone. It's decent, but nothing over the top. I'd go to the waffle house any day of the week over this place. It just always seemed dingy, dirty, and honestly like a roach cave. You leave there feeling gross like u need to shower. Feels like they haven't done anything to this place since like 1982.
Finally, all my feelings have come to reality after the state ordered them to shut down for an extensive list of health code violations. It's about damn time. I knew this place was nasty! Hopefully, the owners actually dedicate good money to revamping and remodeling this dump into something good. Us Homestead residents deserve better, especially with the growth here.
Royal Palm was about to lease out the restaurant to another restaurant "ochoa" at night. Since RP closes daily, like at 2 or 3pm, it would have been pretty neat. But Ochoa ended backing away. The disgustingness is probably why the other restaurant said, "Never mind."
Royal palm still can do a 180 and start to be a real hidden gem if they get their...
Read moreFound myself waiting around with my boyfriend as his car was being serviced at the Honda dealership and found Royal Palm Grill & Deli as the only open restaurant nearby with exceptional ratings. This restaurant's ambiance is truly awesome and unique since its an old southern diner inside of a dated looking pharmacy. All the servers immediately greeted us with smiles as they ushered my boyfriend and I into a small corner booth at the front of the restaurant.
Didn't take me long to decide that I was going to order a monstrous southern breakfast all to myself consisting of: a yummy ribeye steak surprisingly perfectly cooked at medium rare, two over easy eggs , home fries, a biscuit and an extra order of biscuits smothered in white sausage gravy. I tried to devour my $8 meal but despite steady efforts still couldn't finish the entirety of what was served and had plenty to take home as leftovers. My boyfriend ordered the hot corned beef sandwich that came with a hearty serving of fries, priced at an easy $6.59. He absolutely loved his ginormous sandwich and said it was the best Corn Beef he had had in a while.
A great welcoming family-friendly southern comforts diner that is definitely worth your time if you find yourself nearby. Go hungry and go wild, the prices are far from...
Read moreMy favorite part of traveling for work is when i get to head back to my hometown in South Florida, Homestead, where I ALWAYS find a seat at my numero uno spot for a good ol "home cooked" meal, Royal Palm. . Family owned and operated serving up BREAKFAST ALL DAY to the community since 2005 with One of its original diner locations. Don't let the outside fool you, Royal palm is a staple in the community and the service goes far beyond the love-filled food. The walls inside are covered with history of the growing town we call home. Where many people are familiar with homestead because of hurricane Andrew, there are so many places like this one that we consider gems. So if you ever find yourself in Exit 1, be sure to stop in for a...
