MAYAMEX RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Homestead

I use to love this place. I moved back down and went 3 times and all 3 times I have been disappointed. I didn't want to do this because it was one of my favorite places, but I would be doing everyone a disservice if I gave them more then 1 star. I have over 50 reviews and I rarely give 1 star. Menudo had a good taste but was mostly pig feet and bones. (Over 40% of it was bones) I asked for chips and for approximately 2 hand fulls they wanted to charge me $5. I ordered a guacamole and it came without chips. I had to pay an extra $2.50 to get chips with my guacamole. So, basically a small guacamole with chips is $8. Every other restaurant in homestead will give you free chips. I ordered tacos and usually everywhere else will allow you free toppings, they charge $2.50 for pico de gallo (about 1/3 of a cup). A margarita here is $10 and not worth it. For that go to Applebees and get their dollar-rita. Trust me it's better. I must say, I've never stepped into this restaurant, but order delivery from here frequently. This has to be, hands down, the best Mexican food in the Homestead/Florida City area. I have to go in one day to sit down to eat because the food from the delivery is impressive in presentation and absolutely delicious to eat. It always seems like an extra effort is put in the food with positive pride in what they are serving. It always tastes fresh, authentic, and deliciously homemade with love. If they are this good with delivery, I imagine they are even better if I showed up in person. Please keep up the wonderful work. Worst freaking food ever no taste no nothing I went there and I asked for a Mexican steak and they put a bunch of jalapeño peppers and no taste or nothing and it was so nasty. I cannot even eat it and when I called asking The the restaurant I told him I was hungry but I could not eat the food because it was so spicy.
