Homosassa Manatee Snorkeling Center — Attraction in Homosassa Springs

Wish I had read the reviews prior to booking with these oafs. I'm writing in a more uncivilized way now that this company, with the help of paypal has taken my $170 and my families opportunity on this vacation away. We booked a week before. I received confirmation from paypal that my monies had been taken, thought all was good. Got there on my requested date and time, patiently waited past reasonable. 20 mins later made a call to the number in the window, and was told that we had an appt the for the next day. Uncool, our schedule would not accommodate this so I requested a refund. Was told no, offered a rain check. Was told that there was no way we could have booked for that day because they were all booked up for that day, weeks prior.....really? Why is it that we were there approx 1 hour before our appt and approx 45 min after making contact (I sat in my car making a claim with paypal) and no one showed up for the 11:30 appt . I referenced earlier to writing uncivilized because while I had phone convo with some man and I later had written correspondence with him, I made sure to keep my cool and spell all out so that pay pal could see what had transpired, whilst my nemisis was making claims that I just decided to show up on the incorrect date and that I "blamed some one", I thought that by adding in specifics that paypal would see that the mistake was on this companies side....

We went scalloping with Captain Traci on July 11th. This is our third adventure with the Homosassa Manatee Snorkeling Center, it the day was perfect! It always is when we go out with any of the team members from this tour operator. One member of our group had never snorkeled before, and they provided guidance and instruction. None of us had scalloped before, and we all get lessons in how to find the elusive scallop among the seagrass.

In addition to the entire day being a boatload of fun (pun intended), there is also careful attention to boating safety. We always feel we are in very capable hands regardless of which staff member is captaining for the day.

On our way back into dock, we dropped our catch at a floating shucking station. When it came time to puck up our scallops, the road back to the dock was jammed with boat trailers waiting their turn to pull boats from the public launch. Charissa offered to drive me back because she knows the back roads to avoid the traffic. This was so lovely of her. But this is exactly the kind of experience that the Homosassa Manatee Snorkeling Center consistently provides to their guests. Thankfully we have many northern friends that come to visit us here in Florida. Out of town visitors is always a good 'excuse' for booking another adventure with Captain Traci and her...

I wish I could give 0 stars. We had called earlier in the week to set up a tour for the only available day... Friday. The following day we called to confirm right before the 24 hour requirement. FYI do not use gps to get you to the office. Google has it listed as their old location. Obviously the owner doesn't care to get you, the customer a correct address to his business. Upon arriving for the trip we discovered we were not scheduled for a trip. The Captain this day I believe her name was Laura, was very helpful in calling the man who runs the business. The same man i spoke to on the phone. When she called him to ask about the scheduling confusion his story changed multiple times. At first he said we were scheduled for the later tour that day. then said we had never returned his call to confirm???. It was extremely frustrating for him to lie about our confirmation just to cover for his inability to plan and maintain a schedule. Needless to say we left and did not tour with the company. After leaving we decided to read the other reviews... Wish we would have done this before setting up our reservation. DO NOT WASTE YOUR...
