Petco — Attraction in Honolulu

The store itself is great. Lots of selections and stock. Most of the staff are very helpful and respectful...except for 2 cashiers on 2 separate visits to the store that handled (and tried to handle) my small kitten in ways that I felt VERY uncomfortable about. FIRST visit, one cashier wanted to "pet" my 2-month-old kitten that I had in my carrier bag. Thinking that he would reach in and just pet my kitten, I said yes. But instead and without my consent, he grabbed my kitten by the neck, took him out of my bag and passed him to the other cashier to hold. I was so shocked that I couldn't say anything. I left the store shocked and upset. SECOND visit, the other cashier saw my kitten in my bag again, and asked again if he can "pet" my kitten. This time, I said a firm No. He then had the guts to ask me "Why?" as if my refusal offended him. After I told him flatly that I'm not comfortable with it, he proceeded to take out his cellphone and show me pictures of his own cats, which I didn't ask to see nor did I have any interest in stalling the line. I just wanted to get my receipt and get out of there with my kitten. Like I said, the store itself is great, most of the employees are helpful and respectful. But because of those two cashiers, I will think twice about going in...

For close to two years I have been getting my dog brimmed here. The last two times were off. I asked what’s different and why isn’t Amy there anymore. When Amy was there she was excited to see our dog. Today after waiting for someone to even come out it wasn’t the same. I could hear the blow drying on and a dog cry in the back. Then was told I would get a call when done. All the times in the past normally between 1:30 to 2 hours I would get the call he is ready. The last two times no call and I show up 3 hours and he was ready??? Why no call. I asked the manager that was rude and dismissive said it’s normally 3-4 hours??? I said since when I been condoning here almost 2 years and that the first time I heard that. I forgot I could see the cage they had him in and he could barley stand up and turn around. He was in a ball winning when I got there. Guess the remodel got to them and place went down hill. I asked to cancel my membership and they said I can’t??? Moving on and not going back to this place. Wish I knew where Amy...

Today my girlfriend and i adopted a kitten and was told to go to this petco. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by every employee and not in a crazy way like some places. We also had brought the kitten in with us. As we were looking around we were approached by Gary and one of the associates he was training. Now usually i would just look around on my own but Gary had such a great attitude. Gary asked if we just adopted and i said yes. From there he went out of his way to make sure we found all of our needs for our kitten and got us the best deals. We were also help by two other employees. I walked out with so much stuff for our kitten. Sorry if this is to long but i really wish others in customer service would be like Gary and his team. It was so wonderful to have had this experience.
