Swanson's — Attraction in Hoquiam

Ridiculously overpriced. Stop in for a good sale price item from time to time. Every item is a corner store price otherwise. For example. They are the closest to me so I tried again today. Just needed a head of lettuce. $3,49!!! I won't pay double to save a 2 mile drive.

I tried to get some stuff there again today. It didn't work out well. Mushrooms were $2 more. A pound sour cream was $2 more and hamburger was $8 a pound. When I got to that I just put everything back and went elsewhere. It's Insanity prices

The last few years of corporate greed inflation haven't helped their prices. That head a lettuce is $5 now. The employees are all amazing, everybody's nice. It's a great small town store for sales. Regular prices are still yeah.

Tried some of their deli items. They're pretty good. Fryer deli stuff. Everything is just still so expensive with the Trump inflation. Just making it worse. Today I stopped in for tortellinis six seven bucks anywhere else $12 here.

Well now they overcharge on sticker price at register. I've always had to pay attention at Safeway. Now I've been dinged at Swanson's for an extra dollar on one item. $4.99 on the shelf charged $5.99 at the register. This store is so expensive to begin with to be overcharged on top of an expensive price is unacceptable. I go here knowing I'm going to pay more at a convenience of not having to drive across town. One or two items is all I'll ever get. Might not even do...

I’m disheartened to share my increasingly negative experiences at Swanson’s. The store seems to have a consistent problem with stocking expired and spoiled goods.

Recently, I’ve encountered multiple instances of this negligence. From moldy produce to expired dairy, the issues are alarming. I’ve even seen rusted cans of vegetables on the shelves, a clear indication of poor storage conditions.

The most egregious example was the numerous jars of expired Dannish Orchard jam. Over half the shelf was filled with these outdated products. OVER A YEAR EXPIRED. Despite bringing this to the attention of staff, including the manager, their dismissive attitude was frustrating. His response was that they cant be expired and that it is the manufacturing date. How were some dated in the future?? Some were Feb 2023 and some Jan 2025. So they must have a time machine. Wish I would’ve taken photos.

It’s evident that Swanson’s has a severe problem with quality control and food safety. I urge potential customers to exercise caution and consider shopping elsewhere. I will never...

Swanson in hoquiam they have a problem with people taking their time shopping in the store . Usually I'm in and out but this one day I wasn't in a hurry for a change so I'm looking at misc items they have in this one row there's all kinds of stuff so I'm checking things out and mind you I close my eyes s couple times for the lighting in the store is weird on my eyes plus the dust was bad. Well a cashier comes up to me and says I need to get my things n leave I answered what am I doing wrong? She says I'm hoadering in the store I said I'm shopping I'm taking my time I'm not bothering anyone. She then said I was stand ing here sleeping which if u call someone closing their eyes due to the poor lighting and dust bothering my eyes then I'd have to say I'm being picked at. She then said no I think its something else, so basically I was being accused of being high and failing asleep. I've shopped there several times a month I'd say at least 18 times out of the month.
