Had a good time today at Escape Artist! My group of 5 got about 90% through the Jailbreak room but unfortunately we didn’t pass, but it was very difficult for us. Never get stuck on a first clue for 25 min. Use your hint if you have to. It’s very time consuming. Staff was friendly and everything was orderly. They do play some tricks on you that you won’t expect, so good luck!
No amount of escape room experience can prepare you for things in that room. Also, I personally recommend a max of 4 people in that room because it’s very small, Our group of 5 (allows up to 10??) was running around like fast moving gas particles in a small container!! Plus a lot of the puzzles require only 2 people to truly tackle. To have any more than that is just a crowd and sitting around waiting for them to be done. Anyway that’s my advice.
Something I would like improved is more hints, or a way to make it easier for groups to escape. It was discouraging to be so close and fail. That has been my experience with 3 other escape rooms and it’s not the best feeling. I know the point is for it to be challenging but I can’t imagine how smart a group of people have to be to do all that in one hour. It just seems almost...
Read moreThe premise of this place is that you get 60 minutes to solve the puzzles and get out of the room. We failed miserably, but we had a great time doing it! First of all, the booking process. There are 5 different rooms, all with distinct themes. You get an hour in each and they're all the same price; and a great price at that. $20 a person with a maximum of 10 people and minimum of 2. Booking online carries no extra costs which is almost unheard of. The website gives great descriptions of each room and even gives a success rate for each! The staff was very friendly and provided us with many clues; although we were still hopelessly clueless. The tips I can give are to definitely go as a group (the more people, the quicker you can find clues), and to examine everything because even the most seemingly unimportant things can hold clues. The Texans themed Locker Room was the one we tried and we will definitely be back to try the Dexter and Counter-Terrorist...
Read moreI'm an escape room enthusiast and have completed 25+ escape rooms in Houston and surrounding areas, St. Louis and Los Angeles. Escape Artist was my first escape room back when they had a Dexter inspired room. But, this review is for the Cabin that I did a couple years back. So dark that we couldn't see anything we were doing. Teenage game master who seemed annoyed and bored with us when he had to go in and point at what we had to do. I will say the room was well decorated but the puzzles were horrible. No one wants to do a giant puzzle they can't see in the dark that they have to place on the floor and a super lengthy one at that. Some of the things weren't working right and then at the end we almost escaped but there is something you have to do that was again too lengthy and too dark to complete. It was frustrating and not in a fun way like other escape rooms. I made the mistake of trying their location in Spring, but it wasn't...
