Hidden Park Apartments — Attraction in Houston

Renter beware! The office is ran by Norma who is the worst. Through out my lease she instructed the maintenance man to enter my apartment without my consent numerous times and claimed it was due to a ‘water leak’ complaint from the downstairs neighbor (who confirmed this wasn’t true). Each time he entered he did not leave a note. My sister happened to be there a few times. She harassed and discriminated against me and even told me that I needed to clean my living room after she unlawfully entered my apartment, which let me know she was in there again without consent or a notice left in the apartment. My living room had boxes in there because I was still moving in. She put a spotlight in front of my door that was so bright that I had no privacy on my patio (no others had a light similar to this). I was young and the community is mostly elderly people and she targeted me. When i moved out she kept my entire deposit and tried to charge me additional money even though the apartment was professionally cleaned. She charged me $16 to remove 2 unopened water bottles I accidentally left in the pantry. She charged me a $100 pet cleaning fee after my sister once visited with her dog to pick up something but never entered my apartment. She also raised my rent $80 but did not raise my neighbors who had the exact same floor plan. She even sent us a warning after my husband lifted the hood of his car to check the oil telling us no mechanical services were allowed on site. This woman’s behavior was disgusting and traumatizing. I feel bad for her as a human being and would NEVER recommend this property to anyone who expects privacy, common decently and to not be...

The Gem of Oak Forest Section 16:

Hidden Park truly symbolizes its name. The complex is secretly next to St. Ambrose Church and School on Mangum Rd.. If you drive too fast you will completely miss this Hidden Gem. Our family have been residents residents for a little over 4 years. We found a nice, quiet place to raise our child. Our property manager is FANTASTIC! So is our maintenance man or should I say renaissance handy man. You need something fixed he always has a plan. They both seriously listen to your needs or issues. As a team they handle them quickly. If it comes to a hands tied behind your back situation for them, a solution is found with some understandable compromise. Recently when our lease was coming up for renewal, I was offered a great option to move to a downstairs unit. At this same time, a past parent whose children I have taught, offered a 2/1 Bungalow. This specific Bungalow is blocks from the schools my child will be attending in her educational future. As well as being offered a price that was jaw dropping doable. I still decided to stay at Hidden Park and take the unit that had come up. I will end my review with this. There is a lovely pool with a nice calm feel to it. It feels so blissful, because majority of the time you're enjoying this pool with minimal interaction with others. It basically feels like it's your pool. This property in Houston, truly is a gem and I could not be happier...

I'm not one to leave reviews - this is my first. However, after a long list of bad apartment experiences, I felt compelled to share my experience. The initial interactions I had with the property manager, Josephine, left me feeling confident with my decision to apply to live here. She is incredibly kind and responsive - a very refreshing change from poor interactions I've had elsewhere. For me, the pricing is competitive and I appreciate not being bamboozled by a bunch of extra fees that skyrocket my rent.

As someone who enjoys gardening and greenery, I was very attracted to how well Hidden Park maintains their property. The care invested into this appearance is consistent with the care invested into the whole property. Maintenance requests were always promptly addressed, the area is quiet, every resident I interacted with was friendly, and I have nearly concluded a 12 month lease with no complaints. It's unfortunate that my partner's new job isn't closer to Hidden Park, otherwise I would gladly continue to live in this community.
