Painting with a Twist — Attraction in Houston

I took my boyfriend here for date night and was very impressed that they had late night events offered. We were first timers for Painting with a Twist and we were blown away with the experience. We had the pleasure to be with Lauren. She is so artistically inclined and helped with every step of the way on both of our paintings. Lauren made me feel so ready to achieve my perfect painting. She guided me with such expertise every step of the way and sparked creativity that I was so eager to have come out. My boyfriend also loved every second of the experience too in which she gave him great advice to use on his painting too! She was very attentive to us and I was so comfortable painting with her. We went to black light night and the music and lighting made for a spectacular and such a unique experience that we look forward to special nights and black light night every time we want to schedule a session with Lauren. She provided such an amazing experience that I would look forward to any Painting with a Twist with Lauren. She is awesome! It was such a great date for the atmosphere, vibe, and activity for couples to bond on. 5 stars wasn’t enough to rate Lauren and our time at this Painting with a Twist. I consulted with the owner of this establishment to have a fundraiser for the prevention of child abuse at her business. Upon discussing the typical donation amount of a 50/50 split of sales, I told her that we were unable to work with that split. I was ready to pass on the opportunity when the owner pressed me for more information as well as what percentage we could work with. I told her that at a different studio, we had done this fundraiser with a 70/30% split with our group receiving to 70%. The owner said that she could work with that split because the instructor would be able to donate her time and we also agreed to use smaller canvases than were typically provided. To try to make an extremely long story a little shorter, it has taken me 2 1/2 months to get our fundraising money from this owner. She has put me off, had our club jumping through hoops, and has just been difficult to work with on getting our agreed money. In addition, when I finally received the check for our party, she under paid us by $91.50. We had hoped to have an annual event at this establishment, but unfortunately this owner has actually worked her way into never having our business again. It's really unfortunate because we had a really great event and the instructor was wonderful. I have a feeling we'll never recoup the $91.50 that we were shorted. Will never use this...

Alright. One of my sisters and I have been to this location before. The instructor was amazing, she walked us through step by step, came around and offered advice….the instructor we had tonight was TERRIBLE. The only instruction we received was when to mix white with the other colors and what section we were on. He (Gavin) finished the painting and walked away. We started 30 min late because he wasn’t ready for the three of us (there was no one else in the class). At first I thought wow, it states they won’t do a class is there are less than 4 reservations, this is great - no. I have done painting with a twist numerous times and this was the worst experience I’ve had. It showed in the lack of guidance provided. I am beyond disappointed. We caught numerous steps that were skipped and called them out (he blamed it on the instruction). The first photo is what was advertised - while I do not expect an exact replica….the second was the instructors. Then obviously the third is ours. I just can’t express how upset I am with the lack of instruction and professionalism we received tonight. We started just following the photo that was displayed versus following the instructor.
