So FOUR days ago I Was in the area and decided to try a new place for pedicures because it seems very difficult to find a place in Houston that actually takes pride in doing your nails (not originally from here). I came across this place when I googled salons near me. Reviews seemed legit so I tried it out. I came in for a pedicure and they sat me immediately. They asked me which pedicure I wanted and I donāt remember the name I just know it had āashā in it or something. So the guy Andy (I think thatās his name) starts removing the gel from my toes. In the MIDDLE of the pedicure he stops walks away and comes back with a paper breaking down my price for the pedicure which ended up being $110. I found this extremely uncomfortable because I, being the only woman of color in the salon, didnāt see any of the other technicians doing this with their clients. I chalked it up to me being in my head and told him Iām fine with the price. I live in the galleria area lol thatās what Iām used to paying, if not, more. Anyway, he starts doing the pedicure and he cut my big toe (Iāll take a picture of the scab) but again I disregarded it because MISTAKES HAPPEN. Weāre human. Afterwards I asked to do my eyebrows. Donāt remember her name but she did an amazing job. I paid my tab, tipped 20%, and left thinkingā¦āthis might be my new go-to salonā¦ā then I tossed and turned in my bed today and I felt like something was snagged on my toes I look down and the polish is GONE on not one but TWO of my toes, the ring and pinky toes. How does that even happen? This is so annoying because I have a trip coming up and Iām scared Iām gonna go to the beach and come out of the ocean with a half a foot of French painted toes. I couldāve went back but itās like 20 minutes away so I ended up having to go to one of these salons on westheimer and paying them to fix it. Super...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst visit experience: What a refreshing experience.āļø Thank you, Ann, for providing gentle care and explaining the necessity of nail health. I called asking for an acrylic, powder refill. To my surprise, this spa doesnāt offer acrylic, only powder dip. I thought Iād give it a try since the person on the other line described this as a healthier option.
The spa is located tucked in a nice corner near a large storage facility so be sure to follow GPS instructions to the tee when instructed. The spa is small and quaintly situated which I love! Itās a calm and serene atmosphere by both staff and customers.
The quality of care attention given to my nails was a FIRST! Ann taught me how to look at my nails and convinced me to try an approach that is healthier with long term benefits. The Dip Method has no foul or protruding odor which is safer for the staff, customers and the environment, is a faster process and my nails look great!! Iām so glad to say āthese are my nails.ā Is it a bit more expensive? Not to me, since other salons nickel and dime you dry! But Ann shared the cost fior any additional step and only advised me to get whatās needed. Total cost: $50 (was $45 but $5 was added to remove previous acrylic nails.).
I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYes - this place is really worthy of a 5 star rating. I popped in here because I was in the area about 6 Months ago on a whim, based solely on how good the reviews are. And I havenāt visited another mail salon since. Every manicure (dip) and pedicure (hotness with regular nail polish) I have received since then has exceeded my expectations.
Cleanliness: COVID protocols are clear. Everyone is required to wear a mask & wash hands. Iāve watched them sanitize chairs as needed and itās a thoughtful and thorough process.
Ambiance: the shop is quiet, the workers converse very little & I find that very relaxing. No chit chat while Iām clearing my own mind is appreciated. Itās a small, clean operation. Everyone is friendly while also being aloof. Itās easy to come and go feeling attended to and also, incognito.
Parking: easy in & out parking at the back of the shopping center.
Pricing: on par with every other nail salon Iāve been to in the last few years. $45 dip manicure including trimming cuticles, etc & $30+ for a spa pedicure with the full treatment, massage chair, etc.
Nails are always well trimmed, shaped & last for 2-3 weeks without a chip or knick. Love this place & cannot...
