This is a hidden gem in Hudson, WI. It's a park on the bluff overlooking the hilllstoric St Croix riverway. It's very pretty. Lots of trees and bushes. Winding roads through a park of grasdy rolling hills. It's very green in the warm months with dense tree cover. Very quiet. Picnic tables and benches. Even small trails along the bluff for nature walks. And it's not crowded with a bunch of loud people. I took my dog so I think that's allowed. But no alcohol. And best of all, no fees. My new...

Birkmose Park is one of my favorite parks in the Twin Cities extended area. A beautiful drive out through the riverside town of Hudson and a short climb reward with unforgettable views of the St. Croix and surrounding region, with foliage visible, particularly of note in the Autumn season.

The place has a view that will make you feel as if "I'm on top of the world ma" over looking the river and the ant like commute of the world. There's an ancient feel from the gnarled trees and native mounds that reaches within as the world attempts to infringe upon what was and still is.
