Nova Bar — Restaurant in Hudson

I made it out last night, Thursday, for only the second time as I wanted to catch the live music gig @ 6. Nova opens at 4:00 and I arrived roughly 4:10 so still quiet...just the owner and another guy, maybe a staff(?) were at the bar... so I was able to chat him up and bartender Matt.....who I would come to find out wasn't just a bartender but...an exceptionally RAD one!!! Had a great time discussing cocktails, boozes, and music. So much so... time flew by!! As we discussed cocktails I asked which one he would order of either This Is Our Fall Drink and the Nova Old Fashioned? I was met w the Nova is always available.... Say no more. I told him I was a bit skeptical as I'm not a big cinnamon fan so the All Spice. Matt assured me the concoction eased the flavor.... he did not steer me wrong... it was delicious! It certainly didn't give me the sleepy's either... awesome! As it got closer to 6 people filed in, thankfully not packed to the gills but comfortable. I asked a fellow what beer he was drinking? He replied "the only one they have," I looked behind the bar and saw only a Miller High Life tap! Wow... shocking... but.. fantastic!!! s I looked at the bar, I got a good chuckle when I saw the neon light reading "I Liked The Old Nova Better." I didn't ask but I'd assume a common comment... thus the light. Glad to read the humor was found, ha. I had ate prior to coming so I didn't have a Melt Pizza but even the musician gave the pizzas a shout out for how delicious they were. Nova is just off of 94, owned by a lovely fella who provides a great comfortable little joint w delicious cocktails poured by a charming bartender. Lots of standard height table seating and a long bar if you choose to sit there. I love the colorful tabletops.You'll get a kick out of using the restroom and the sticker covered walls! Don't skip on the Nova as it's tucked away just east of 2nd St, your whole everything will thank you for...

🤩 Customer service is incredible! Brett is a great guy who takes care of the customers and really makes everyone feel at home!

🥃 First ask for the raspberry old fashioned (you could even say Ron | IG: whiskey_with recommended it👊🏼) otherwise, Go there and you won’t be disappointed in the whiskey selection.

They do have a full bar, so there is something for everyone! Take care of the team there as this is a special place.

One detroit style pizza took over an hour and was basically all bread with a sparse amount of toppings. Taste was fine but I was expecting lore for the price and long wait. Bartender was kinda snotty. I asked for a Dry Martini, she didn't have olives. I asked for Pinot Grigio and she rolled her eyes and said she didn't have it.
