Today I took my puppy in to find out she had Parvo. I met with a vet named Kirk and a tech named Amber. She was amazing. I called back up to ask Amber about the subq fluids we had discussed on Chewy because it required an Rx. She asked Kirk and he said I could come in and they would sell me a bag of fluids. Mi d you the same bag on Chewy was 9.98. My sister picked up the bag for me. I was astonished to find they charged me 98.00. When I called they said they would have someone from the back to call me back. She did not tell me her name only that she spoke with the doctor and the amount was correct. When I told her that was crazy the amount and that I would nit be using their services after paying 180.00 for an office visit and a fecal earlier. Her response was we figured and hung up on me. Maybe Dr. Champion needs to evaluate his staff because with staff like this he will be losing clients because he just lost this one! I want to follow up to this email. The bag fluids episode was made right by the owners and office manager. They apologized and discussed why the fluids should have never left the vetbin the first place. I worked for a vet in SC and knew how to administer fluids. Nevertheless, Priska was hospitalized that day with Parvo. She spent the next 10 days in the hospital. It was touch and go. She lost so much weight. I was able to see her every day and I o Would call and get updates. In all the last 13 years of breeding Rottweilers, I have never had a puppy with Parvo until I came to Alabama. They did everything to save her life and for that I will be forever greatful.

You guys are good at what you do, but I do not like how I brought my 6month old puppy in and she was scared to death and when she was handled she was dragged everywhere by the doctor and the techs by the collar to the back. Even my 4year old child asked me why are they treating Mya like that. It’s been a few days and I’m still disturbed and bothered every time I think about it I still get upset seeing how upset and scared she was and instead of helping her be calm she was dragged like a wild animal. I paid money for my baby to be treated here , as she was. I just didn’t like how it was done. I feel there should be a better way to handle the animals here. I work at A veterinary specialist hospital and we have never ever dragged our animals by the collar by no means . My dog wasn’t even aggressive , it was just pure fear of being in a new environment. No pet owner should have to go through seeing their animal treated like a circus pet. There was obvious resistance with my dog, no aggression just fear. She literally was sliding across yalls floors . I didn’t like that.

Dr Blake Champion is the best! We had a rescue that just had a hardware removal done by him and it went better than we could have expected! We did have some minor complications, and her leg split open 2 weeks after the surgery. We brought her back in, and Dr Champion said that her bone (that the hardware was in) got displaced. He is recommending a full leg amputation now. Me and my partner are in our early 20’s and we don’t have a lot saved. He actually took over 50% off of our surgery price! Hueytown Vet Clinic truly takes the best care of us. Quinn loves y’all too!

If you care about your animal, take them to Hope or Riverview, where they care about you and your pet.

I brought my dog here after noticing he was very lethargic. When I pulled up, I was struggling to carry my sick dog inside while crying, and no one offered to help. They just sat behind the desk, talking. The vet took him back and informed me he would need surgery and it would be $4,000. I explained I couldn’t pay that immediately but might be able to in a few weeks. He mentioned that he didn’t think my dog was in any pain, and that the ailment could possibly clear up on its own, or he could possibly pass away, but the vet never mentioned how dire the situation was. So I opted to take him home.

Immediately after I got home, my dog began fainting, something he wasn’t doing before we left the house, so that’s when I knew something was really wrong. I called back less than an hour or two later and was told that unless I went through with surgery soon, I should expect him to be very ill or to just bring him back for euthanasia.

I then called a different vet who urged me to bring him in immediately as it was life or death, totally different from what I was told at HVV. I was also quoted literally HALF of what HVC wanted to charge for the same surgery/procedure.

At Hope Animal Clinic two techs rushed out to my car to help carry my dog inside, and the entire staff treated both of us with compassion, patience and a sense of urgency.

While HVC’s diagnosis was correct, telling me it wasn’t urgent and then changing their stance in under an hour or so is unacceptable. Based on their past responses to negative reviews, I don’t expect accountability. Whoever runs this clinic seems extremely defensive and thin-skinned when it comes to criticism. I am simply sharing my experience so other pet owners know there are more caring and cost-friendly...

I can’t say enough good or GREAT about Hueytown Vet Clinic..I was new to AL from TN. I married and moved here bringing my beloved Austrian Shepard Willie Clyde.. He had only 3 legs and cancer which was In one of his 3 legs.. I had to find a Vet quickly not to cure him because I already knew it was only time… I was referred to Hueytown and it couldn’t have been a better place.. The staff, the medical team and the Doctor were all 100% they weren’t just taking care of my Furbaby and showing their love for him but they took care of ME..I know All are top notch, but the 2 doctors that I met were first Dr Champion (YES HES A CHAMPION) and then Dr Birtchfield and when I met him he already knew all about Willie Clyde which made me feel even more love for them. They did all they could do to make my babies time with me SPECIAL and tried In every way to keep him comfortable and happy. When the time came that I had to make a decision they were right by my side helping me through.. This team of experts is by far the very BEST.. Their knowledge, their expertise, their love for ALL goes beyond what I’ve every experienced and I can’t thank them enough.. We also have a Yorkie and she won’t go anywhere else and if you truly love your Furbabies this is the place to take them, you won’t find a...
