Nicely shaded beachy access, especially great for parents with younger ones. Lots of trees in the park area but be warned they drop some kind of fruit that looks like fig and its all over the sidewalk. Kid park area was nice even for 11 year olds. My 9 and 12 year old girls love the park area and enjoyed the swings. They do have swings for the babies and toddlers with the leg holes and the regular swings. Beach area seemed pretty clear of glass, smoke buds and other random dangerous stuff you may find at the regular beachy areas. Lots of room kn the sand and mostly parents and their little ones with an occasional teen and/or college kid tanning or reading. Not many creepy transient people either. Great spot to have a full on picnic with some water play time. Parking is plenty and there is a bathroom. Enjoy this sweet spot in the cut for the next time you don't want to be around the crowds at the beach...

Some scavenger hunt activities are posted around the park that can even encounage the adults to participate! There's a 2 swings for bigger kids, 2 toddler swings and a parent and me swing for the littles. Plan accordingly as this spot is easy to spend a day at.

Read moreReally a pretty great spot. I call it the 909er beach for all those IE residents who cant swim, but I digress. Pretty cool pirate themed playground with swings, seesaw, and slides. The park has a bathroom. There is a roped off area where swimmers are not supposed to go past in the water, and boaters, kayakers and paddle boarders know not to enter that point. There are trees that provide shade, couple of picnic tables, and one of those charcoal grills you see in most parks. What's even better than all this is that the "beach" is on a quieter back channel of the harbor, so few boats go past, so its quiet and not much chop in the water to scare the more...
