Ted Watkins Memorial Park — Attraction in Huntington Park

The park looks great for being closed for over a year. The workout equipment is a welcomed addition. Only a few things I don't like. 1. The fenced soccer field was not a good idea. It's greatly unused and is locked up 99% of the time, stray dogs are able to squeeze under the gate and roam the field. 2. There's always a group of older men in the parking lot, playing cards and socializing. They can be loud & using curse words. 3. The restrooms have been reduced in size, from two toilets to one. For a park with a large picnic area, that's not enough restroom. Some kids and adults will urinate on the floor, if the stall and urinal are busy. The lack of proper supplies force people to use newspaper or paper plates from the trash cans to clean themselves, that clogs the toilet! Other than that, the park did a complete 360' from what it use to...

I have not been on the park premises yet. I have driven around and on the outside it looks like a big park, the greenery is well maintained, has a pool, rec center, play area, work out equipment plenty of space to lounge and picnic. Now due the surrounding neighborhood which still looks a little rough around the edges I have not yet decided to ride bikes or go for a walk with just the kids and I. I love this park and I also will like too compliment a lady that cleans our park on her great work and her beautiful personality as a inspirational community activist women myself I pray they will continue too be more women like her she's amazing she greets everyone and I like that about her so much she's a very happy women thank you for your services I forgot too get her name but I'm sure she will know who I'm talking about thank you...
