Ritter Park Rose Garden — Attraction in Huntington

Went today to get clippings. The Gentlemen doing the pruning was very helpful. And he went out of his way (above and beyond) to help out. He give me detailed description of each kind of rose he was clipping for me and also explained a few different sections he didnt give me any and explained that the roses in those particular sections had done very poor this year and he didnt want to give me clippings from sub par roses he said in the spring he is going to dig up said beds and fix the soil ph and plant a new bed. This is just a small part of how helpful he was. But heres the kicker of it all and why i am really impressed and giving such a great review they advertised clipping would happen and to be there between 8 and noon this morning. I got there at 1235 or 1245 and by the time i found him and he was done helping a nother lady there it was closer to 1. Im sure we probably was taking up his lunch hour most likely but he was more than happy to help. I cannot remember his name even though it was on his shirt but this man needs/deserves a raise.. Dudes & Ladies! If you want to see true natural beauty, I highly recommend the Rose Garden at Ritter Park when the flowers are in full bloom. It is not only beautiful but its relaxing, it smells great from the fresh air and the flowers everywhere.

I had never been until 2 years ago. My husband took me there (I am a sucker for flowers, leaves, rocks, etc. You name it if it lives outside, and more than likely, I have a collection of it, lolz) I managed to take so many gorgeous pictures as well. If you are looking to get a photo shoot done, this is the place to do it... As long as it's on the flowers blooming time. But even when they do die for the winter, it stays pretty around there. Plus, the entire park as a whole is huge! You could spend hours hiking trails, swimming or playing in the creek, they have tennis courts, like 4 or 5 different jungle gyms, dog parks, a walking/jogging track that follows the perimeter of the entire park.

As an extra bonus: Most of the time, the people you meet along the trails and such and generally nice people, and 9 out of 10 times they let you pet their dogs. That alone gives this place at least one extra rating...

We recently had our wedding here. It was beautiful and amazing! The building is older but looks beautiful with some decorations and lights!! And the rose garden looks beautiful at sunset!!! The people who work there especially Scott and Casey are so helpful and polite!!! Overall we had an amazing experience and so did our guests!!!!
