Ritter Park is Huntington's most popular park and one of the best things about living here. It has a 1 mile flat walking path around the main park. The path extends west along Four Pole Creek for about 2 more miles. The path is perfect for casual strolls or fitness walks and runs. Ritter Park is also a popular place for local bicycling enthusiasts to begin and end long training rides. The park also features a modern playground for kids, a great tennis facility on 12th Street, a famous Rose Garden on 8th Street, a brand new picnic shelter near the 12th. Street entrance (built in late 2016) and a new restroom facility scheduled for construction near the new picnic shelter in early 2017. There are also picnic tables and park benches scattered throughout the park. Above the tennis facility on 12th. Street is a popular dog park and an amphitheater with concerts and locally-produced plays in the summer. There is plenty of on-street parking around the perimeter of the main park with additional parking areas at the 8th and 12th Street entrances. More on-street parking is available near the tennis courts, Rose Garden, dog park and...

Ritter Park is truly a gem in Huntington, West Virginia! This beautifully maintained park offers something for everyone, making it a fantastic destination for families, nature lovers, and those seeking a peaceful escape. The walking trail, stretching for nearly a mile, is ideal for a stroll, run, or bike ride, and the surrounding historic district boasts stunning homes, adding to the picturesque scenery. The highlight, undoubtedly, is the exquisite rose garden, particularly breathtaking in June, but still lovely year-round. The nationally acclaimed playground, complete with a zipline and sandpit, is a huge hit with kids, while the dog park is a great spot for furry friends to socialize. Whether you're looking for a relaxing picnic under the mature trees, a game of tennis on the well-maintained courts, or simply a tranquil place to unwind, Ritter Park delivers. It's truly a testament to Huntington's commitment to green spaces and...

I love to visit Ritter Park in the Beautiful little City of Huntington, West Virginia. I really appreciate all the hard work that the Huntington City Parks department does keeping the park very clean and attractive to all of the visiting friends and family we all have that come from all 50 state's to enjoy the natural wildlife and nature that Ritter Park has to offer , with such breathtaking viewing area's of the Rose Garden and all the other viewing area's the park has to enjoy. The children have a great playground area and the entire park has very nice sidewalks to walk around the entire park as well as jogging, bikes are welcome anytime also. It's a must see whether you are just passing through off I-64 or stoping by Ritter Park on you lunch break from work or just going through the park to stop and smell the roses on your memorial day holiday weekend .stop by...

Nice park in the middle of town. It is easy to find. There are plenty of parking spaces around the park. There is a small playground for kids. There is a walking trail around the park. The trail is about a mile long. Along the trail, you will see a steam, walkway up to the Rose Garden, beginner hiking trails, shelters, and all nice views. The park is well maintained, clean, and quiet. It offers peaceful feeling to its visitors. If you visit Huntington, don’t miss it. Enjoy your evening walk with locals. Observe nice houses along the park. One of those houses is Marshall University president house. Marshall University is the town university. You can shout out ‘Go Herd’ to anyone who wear green shirts with big M, or word Marshall, or Marshall logo on. It is one of the university cheers.
