We have enjoyed the Chisolm Aquatic Center for many years. The facility itself is nice and suits our needs as parents of a 3.5 and two year old. This makes our 3rd summer attending, beginning with Memorial Day this year. The things that is starting to become a nuisance is the lack of visible leadership amongst the lifeguard teams. Understanding that they are kids themselves, they do a swell enough job...some better than others. We only really visit the kids areas as well as the lazy river. Between those two, I can say that the lazy river guards definitely have a stronger hold of how to maintain the flow of traffic and have patrons adhere to non-rambunxious behaviors. The area that lacks authority is the main kids slide area...where the age limit on the slide can't be more than 10 years old. However, it has become constantly overrun with kids above the age limit, leaving some smaller children afraid or unable to get their turn on the slide. I witnessed 3 parents plus myself having to go up the top of the slide to manage the flow of traffic. I do know, it is NOT my job....but I can't let my kid get overrun by a MUCH larger kid when all I see is "lifeguards" pacing their 12 foot area, bobbing their heads up and down....I suppose, in an effort to indicate they're looking low and high or keeping count of bodies in the water. Either way, it's ridiculous and a poor excuse for monitoring the situation. I'd already been thinking of going elsewhere but didn't want to be too harsh about my experience. But so far this year, several visits in....nothing has changed. We are no longer in a covid situation, so manpower is not the issue....which Is what was claimed when we spoke to a shift leader today. It's still a cool park, and nothing too terrible has happened. But one thing that turns me off of a place is having to pull my own weight, as if I work there. Too many parents seem to either not be around at the Waterpark or are simply not aware that their older kids are running amuck. I wish they, or the person that manages the protocols of the park...
Read moreI would not recommend this aquatic center for a birthday party if you are a person of color. I personally witnessed the manager of this park racially profile and put out a Hispanic woman, a black man and a middle eastern woman for absolutely no reason at all. After the party arrived with a stack of pre purchased tickets the staff accepted the tickets and then another staff member that wasn't aware they paid accused them of not paying. Once it was proven they did pay that particular staff member became embarrassed that she was wrong but instead of doing the right thing and apologizing she told the manager they were irate and hurt her feelings and she wanted them to leave. I saw them spill the party's food upon arrival during the check in on purpose asking very loudly where the liquor was. The gentleman responded ma'am this is a child's party, we did not bring liquor. They checked their things and didn't find anything. The whole time the kids there for the party were scared and mortified at what they were witnessing. I saw a 9 year little girls party be ruined for no reason. They even went as far as calling the police on these people and I didn't witness them do a single thing wrong. It was disgusting to watch and when I witnessed it I immediately told the party I was with that we were leaving. I didn't want to give this park any more of my time and support. They get 10 thumbs down on professionalism. I am absolutely flabbergasted that in 2025 racial profiling such as this is...
Read moreMy friend threw a party for her daughter yesterday at this facility and what I witnesses was pure unprofessionalism by the staff. My friend rented their biggest pavilion for a six hour period at $240 she also had 20 + tickets for entry for the party members. Upon arrival there were other people occupying the pavilion that the staff said nothing to. Then while my friend and husband were trying to bring in supplies the staff accused them of trying to sneak the father and brother of the child who's party it was in. My friend kindly showed the staff the tickets and advised no that is not the case...she even volunteered to leave all the tickets up at the front desk along with a list to cut confusion if they would like until they got all the food and supplies in. The staff said they could not do that and must come up and give tickets when each person arrives. I watched her give tickets for each person as they came in. Having spent all the money that they did on the pavilion and the ticks... them trying to sneak 2 people in while holding and offering the tickets to the staff just doesn't add up. I believe there was something deeper going on here. The staff could have handled this situation a lot better. Instead of admitting they were wrong or misunderstood the situation, They instead had the party removed and ruined a little girl's...
