They took my money and they're not giving it back.
On October 7th I called Whirlyball Plano (see pictured phone record, see screen capture of Whirlyball Plano's Google listing) at the listed phone number to book a reservation. When I call this phone number, I am told by an automated voice that I'm calling Whirlyball Plano. I speak with a representative and we verbally agree to a date.
I was sent a contract, which I have also attached, that contains no mention of a Hurst location.
I show up on the day of my reservation at Whirlyball Plano to find that the place is shuttered. I'm organizing an event on behalf of a group and first need to scramble to find another option, and then I'm surprised by a call from Whirlyball, Hurst. They ask me why I'm not there for my reserved event!
I explain my situation to the woman that called, who immediately apologizes, and says that I'm not the first person this has happened to, but that there is nothing she can do. I speak with the manager, who tells me that I "should have known that all calls to the Plano location are picked up by someone at the Hurst location", and that "whenever someone picks up the phone they tell you which location they're at." The manager gaslit me by saying the representatives on the phone always say where they are. It didn't happen in this case. They refused to take any accountability.
I have booked an event at Whirlyball Plano for each of the last 3 years and done the exact same thing to make the reservation. I've called the same number and gave the same information needed on my end to make it happen. Something different happened this time, and this business would rather take my money now than make things right and keep me bringing people through their doors for years to come.

Read moreI was looking for a place to take my son and his friend today. I was looking for fun arcade style place that I could safely drop off two 12 year olds for couple hours to hang out. I read the reviews and came across Nathan Ragland and Damion Jones. After reading what they had to say, as a 43 year old white woman, I am completely appalled that in 2017 we are still placing identity based on skin color? "the big group of black people"..I mean seriously? would anyone ever say "that big group of white folks over there.." NO they wouldn't. These staff members seem like they'd be willing to categorize "that group of gay kids over there" so on and so forth. I have a gay child and a special needs daughter as well as a son that can be really shy. What would you call us? "divorced mom with a few tattoos and three weird kids..her, over there.." First and foremost I am so glad that Nathan and Damion spoke up. Secondly I will not spend a dime in an establishment that clearly has not gone over basic rules of acceptance in that every person, regardless of color, creed, race and orientation are human beings. I'd like to say that on the inside we are all the same. But this is a misnomer...while our guts may be the same, the way of which you treat another person is truly an example of who you are. We learned the golden rule in kindergarten...treat others with kindness and care. Keep your hands to yourself and listen to others when they are speaking. We should not still be having this conversation. I am glad to say I have never been a customer. I am also glad to say that I never will be as a...
Read moreWe came to WhirlyBall for a corporate event, and almost everyone in our group had never played before. The staff did an amazing job walking us through the rules and making us feel comfortable. For those who haven’t played, WhirlyBall is a mix of basketball, hockey, and bumper cars. You drive bumper cars and use a scoop to pass and shoot a whiffle ball at a target. It’s so much fun, even if you’re not athletic.
What really stood out was how awesome and friendly the staff was. They made the whole experience so smooth and enjoyable. You can tell they really care about their guests having a great time.
The venue also has a full bar, with beer, wine, and cocktails. The drink prices were surprisingly affordable, and that added a nice touch to the event. It was the perfect mix of fun, competition, and relaxation.
We were all so impressed, and I can confidently say we’ll be back. Our company will definitely be returning as well. This was such a fun and memorable experience. Thank you to the entire...
