I've been here many times. I always love the food and the wait staff. I regularly recommend this place to everyone I can. Tonight, however, I'm furious! We brought my mother here for her 81st birthday. Food was great as usual, but two judgement calls let me know my business is not important to them. First, after dinner the waitress spilled wine on my brother's phone. No big deal, these things do happen, but the phone could be damaged. That didnt stop the waitress from adding gratuity to our checks. There were only 6 of us, 2 checks. I was planning to leave a better tip than she left herself. Then, as we sat and8 were visiting with my mom, a woman who I believe is an owner leaned down to my mom and let her know that our table was reserved by someone else and she needed us to leave. We had been done eating for about 30 min and were commenting on how nice it was when this happened. I'm embarrassed for my family to have seen this after I recommended that we eat here. I'm so offended by this! This is the only restaurant where I've spent money and then was treated like a vagrant. Paying customers should be welcome. Seating people at tables when you know you have reservations is their problem, but tonight they made me pay for their mistake. I'm torn now, I've always loved this place. I once brought in 18 people for my wife's birthday and paid the entire tab myself with a 20% tip, and now this. I am a loyal and dedicated customer, and this woman has seated my family at least 15 times, probably more. Go here for the food, but realize you're not important to them. They just...
Read moreHave been waiting to try this place out for a while, but unfortunately I was disappointed in the experience overall. Went with my husband and stepson around 6:30. Ordered the sagnaki, which I have never had. Not very impressed. Had kind of a chemical taste about it. Also ordered the spanikopita. Two relatively small pieces for almost $10?? The filo was very dry. My husband ordered the tilapia, which he said was wonderful. My stepson ordered a cheeseburger...typical for a 13 year old who won't try anything different. I ordered the gyro wrap, with extra tzatziki sauce. Had to be the worst tzatziki sauce ever! Don't know what part of Greece they are from, but growing up eating Greek food, this definitely was NOT tzatziki sauce. It was runny and had more of a yellowish color. Tasted more like italian dressing with dill added. It should have been made with traditional greek yogurt, chopped cucumbers, dill, lemon, olive oil and garlic. Also, the prices are way too high for the quantity and quality of food. Spent $70 for 3 people, and don't know how. At least now I know what it's like. Will be going back to get REAL Greek food in Dallas at either Stratos or Kostas Caf. Sorry....but we won't be back.
Συγνώμη, αλλά αυτό δεν είναι το μόνο αυθεντικό...
Read moreToday is my birthday, and I chose Cafe Medi for my birthday dinner with my husband. He ordered a falafel wrap with fries. He was nearly finished eating before we were able to flag down our waitress to ask for catsup. I had tomato basil soup which was very good, but was served with no bread or crackers. My dinner was salmon in lemon cream sauce which was delicious (and a BIG serving). It came with green beans and tomatoes, and this was good also. There was a HUGE mound of white rice and ONE tiny potato which was more like a piece of a new potato. The one-bite-potato was very good; the rice was, well....just rice. Still there was no bread brought to our table througout the meal, and we were not asked if we'd like to order dessert. I was especially disappointed in the service. I think the waitress probably had not been properly instructed as to how to do her job well. Oh, and as an extra caveat, my chair seat pinched my finger and made it bleed! Other than that, it was a fine birthday...
