One of my very favorite things to do is visit Shrines throughout the country. Whenever I travel, I research to find where Shrines are located in the vicinity of where I am. I first visited this lovely National Shrine of St Jude back in April on a very cold, wet and rainy evening. As soon as I walked up the stairs and into the church, I saw the most beautiful statue of Saint Jude illuminated to the right beside the altar. I knew that I had to return eventually, just to sit in the warmth, the peace and the comfort of this Shrine that you will experience immediately upon entering this church. Though I have prayed to St Jude for a very long time, there is something extra special about praying there. You will love the co-directors Frs Agustin and Byron. They take the time to greet you personally. Fr Byron has trained many young people who have become assets to this community as well. The altar servers actually come down among the congregation to give the Sign of Peace. You may even be able to meet Fr Paul, the Claretian Provincial, who also gives phenomenal homelies of worth and meaning. So please visit and attend Mass if you are in South Chicago. You will feel blessed from the moment you open the doors, and the statue’s golden aura will surround you even after you leave, not to mention the beauty emanating from the immense portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe behind the altar. With certainty you will know your prayers are heard, and that words are completely unnecessary in a...

I love St Jude Shrine, it is such a beautiful place to visit. I come from Clarksville TN and all the Fathers and congregation are so welcoming and loving. They have a beautiful gift shop so many gifts to buy and to Bless people where your from does not have a Catholic Gift Shop. I enjoy going there with my god daughter currently in the RCIA we love the masses, confession, and sometimes if you need to talk they are there to listen. And you At Jude the Patron of the impossible and hopeless. My God daughter would loved to do her RCIA but she lives in Indiana and she does not like to drive in Illinois. If you have a chance go there and visit and have a special time with the one above. Love always Elizabeth and Lisa. Thank you Father Hector Father Byron and Father Steve and Mrs Manuela and her daughters well everybody there all special....

I was trying to have a baby and went thru several miscarriages from 2005 thru 2007. St. Jude is my patron Saint so I decided to visit the shrine in person. At the time I was living in Texas but my sister in law lived in Chicago so I visited her with the plan to visit the church. The church is beautiful and you immediately feel a sense of comforting warmth. I prayed to St Jude, purchased a St Jude medallion, had it blessed and shortly after I got pregnant. Whether it was divine intervention or just a coincidence, it was my only pregnancy that reached term. I was blessed with a boy who is now 13. And I thank God and St. Jude for...

Where one can relish what faith has got to offer, to raise you up ! The intercession of St. Jude has been testified to be very active and powerful here. You can feel it yourself. A friendly and vibrantly participating community; served by the Claretians, "Servants of the Word, Partners in Hope".

One of the most beautiful churches that I know of. When I need strength in my life I come here. Beautiful altar to St. Jude. In front is a kneeler with a small relic you can touch. At the shrine is a larger relic encased below a beautiful statue of St. Jude.
