South Shore Beach — Attraction in Hyde Park Township

This has been my favorite little spot. I have so much history here. The south cultural center is such a beautiful place with so much character and this almost hidden beach behind it, is a compliment to its uniqueness. It has been four years since I last visited and I was so happy to see the improvements. The BEACH 🏠 has bathrooms, water fountains, Mike's grill, and a rental service for things you can do at this beach. Many places to PARK your 🚗 , pay at box. A plus to this beach also is that the sand does not quickly sink in. We walked as far as we could, near the lifeguard on the boat and the water was just a little above our knees. This day was so windy which made a perfect natural wave pool affect. There was many lifeguards and they were very attentive and active on the beach. Beautiful area, gorgeous beach and gardens. The lifeguards are phenomenal. They are so alert and kind, even coming to search out my friend and I when we were out of sight in the gardens for 20+ minutes to make sure we were safe!
