Very disappointing situation here, we launched or boat at cave rock ramp and drove away since we were staying in incline village need to mention that is not cheap to rent a place there, after we drove away cuz there was not parking available at cave rock and waiting time was 3 hours minimum, the guy told us that we couldn't retrieve our boat that night and get a seal another arbitration you have to inspect your boat and only 1 inspection station available very far away from incline village you have to drop your boat and leave your truck and trailer where your launched the boat otherwise you will have to inspect and pay another $80, inspection validation suppose to be for 7 days but if you leave ramp parking lot your inspection is not longer valid, so my wife drove back to incline village to drop trailer and meet us at incline village ski park and to our horrible surprise this beach has a city or county monopoly no visitors are allowed to even walk to your boat is prohibited I assume it is prohibited to landing in your boat is too, north lake tahoe shoreline is absolutely privately owned, so pretty much incline village is a unwelcome place for boat owners visiting, not to mention that the closest ramp sand harbor is closed due to low water level hahaha amazing ha, I heard that tahoe is one of the most visited lakes in the US and to my experience at north end visitors aren't that welcome here even worse if you bring your boat, if sand harbor is closed why incline village gives 2 jacks and doesn't a least allowed us launch and leave since we're staying there for a pretty good amount $, now the lake is huge a filled with wealthy people boats anchored at north end even a airplane is anchored there, wondering if they inspected that airplane? Back to the point if incline ramp is for locals why locals don't really use it? Cuz their boats are already in the water cuz they know more than visitors that this place sucks with their arbitrary rules meant to scare visitors away, PROBLEMS at noth lake tahoe shoreline 1.not enough ramps 2.not enough parking for boaters 3.privatized shoreline 4.inspection rules(arbitrarily ruled) 5.bad engineered sand harbor ramp 6.visitor center miss informed 7.rude customer service at every park 8.miss informed customer service 9.not a single public shoreline entrance trough incline village
Tahoe is an awesome vacation destination but all the BS makes it a very stressful experience we spend 5 stressed vacation days figuring out at every step out to get in the water and out, I'll be updating on 07/31 when I retrieve my boat out of the lake since I was pretty much forced to leave it anchored overnight at...
