Simply Hooked Sport Charter Fishing — Attraction in Indian Rocks Beach

What an experience! I started by talking to Captain Toms wife to book my trip. She was very informative and helpful! The day we got down the beach, I called her and she gave me directions to the marina so we would know where we were headed the following morning. We hopped on the boat and took off through the bay, had some dolphins join us and play in the wake of the boat. The ocean was really enough, Captain Tom gave us the option to turn back but I told him we were fine so we continued on. The waves were big and hitting us from all directions but we still hooked a pretty good bit of fish! The ocean was unforgiving and continued to beat us to death and then a storm formed and captain tom made a good call to head back. We had booked a full day but the weather cut us to a half day which was no big deal. Even in the rough and less than ideal conditions, tom still put us on the fish. The only reason for 4 stars is the deckhand wasn't very social. Not sure if he was just having an off day or didn't feel good or something. this charter is fantastic! we had another charter at 945 pm the night before our trip. simply hooked was recommended to us, and I called him at 10pm, and he agreed to take us out the next morning. we booked a 6hr, and asked to leave around 9, which agreed to, even though most charters prefer to leave earlier. we had 2 teenage boys who got seasick and didn't perk up until the end of the trip, and allowed us to stay out an extra hour to allow the sick ones to catch fish. Tom and Cody really bent over backwards to be accommodating for us. we caught a ton of really big fish, including a king fish that was somewhere around 30-40lbs. we drew a crowd on the docks watching Tom clean that big king fish. we took 35lbs of fish to be smoked and took roughly another 20lbs or so over to the baithouse to be cooked for dinner, and had so much left over we took it home for 3 more meals. we had a great time, and I will be calling them again when I'm back in the summer. Was hoping for an enjoyable fishing trip. Caught few Spanish Mackerel and a couple of King Fish. Tone for the trip was set by a capt who seemed a bit grumpy and edgy. First mate was clearly new at his job but very personable and kind. We (customers) decided to end trip early since it pretty much was uneventful with a heavy atmosphere. Once we reached shore we settled up with capt for amt due which included a price increase of $25.00 price increase from original booking price along with a hidden percentage charge for whatever reason (didn’t question it due to not wanting to make a scene). Once Capt was paid he was very kind, better attitude, and cleaned fish for us. A total of $975.00+ for an extremely disappointing fishing trip! Cool name for a fishing charter but never, ever, with Simply Hooked...
