Pipo & Bettys Bakery — Restaurant in Indian Rocks Beach

The aesthetics and the fresh made pastries as you enter offer an enticing look and get you excited to be there. We did not order any patisserie so I cannot speak to their level of quality. However if you are a coffee or espresso lover take your business elsewhere… I have been to dozens of coffee shops across the United States this year and I’ve gotta say this iced latte was probably the worst I’ve had EVER. Owners need to send the staff to coffee school because it is very obvious the barista has no idea of what makes a good espresso drink, I can’t imagine she has made much more than a k cup in her day. My girlfriend returned her drink for a new one as soon as we took one astonishingly disgusting sip, I should have as well honestly. Upon return she came to find out that the barista was working ahead on espresso to make her job easier but the quality much much lower…. Never have we seen pre made espresso put into a Tupperware on the counter and left to sit for the cold espresso drinks. Anyone who knows about espresso knows this makes the flavor bitter and unbearable, a strategy I have never seen used before and one that hopefully the owners stop from ever happening again. Also on a side note, the only cheese options for the sandwiches are American and Swiss… who in the world would choose/use American cheese on a breakfast sandwich instead of some type of cheddar or literally any other type of real cheese!?!?!? Get that garbage plastic cheese product off the menu if you have any self respect or respect for quality food. I would love to come back and see the effort and quality go up a little bit because I believe this spot has great potential, hopefully they will learn and improve into the amazing shop...

I happened to venture in to grab a couple of muffins during a busy time (have been here multiple times). When I got there I noticed about 7 people waiting ahead of me that had already ordered. No problem I thought. I'll get my muffins to go and get out quick as I assumed the people ahead of me were waiting for items to be made (i.e. coffee, latte or breakfast sandwich), which most of them were. So I placed my order which were simply muffins which are an arms reach of the cashier. One of the muffins I wanted was the last one. The cashier instructed me to wait like the rest. I stated, "but the muffins are right there just grab them". She would not. My concern then was that someone ahead of me might have ordered the same last muffin and I would have to get a refund or choose something else. The entire time waiting (10 minutes to put 2 muffins in a box), I was thinking how inefficient their system was. Sorry but your bakery needs to take a lesson from the fast food industry in terms of efficiency. If someone orders something that is on the shelf, service them. If an item needs to be made people wait which is expected. There was plenty of staff their to put 2 muffins in a box aside from the cashier. I know it sounds petty, but standing there waiting 10 minutes or so to stick 2 muffins in a box which could have been done in 10 seconds by the cashier just left me with a bad impression. The quality of the bakery...

I have been craving a cinnamon roll, and when I say cinnamon roll, I’m not talking keto substitutions, or a low-fat or low carb make it on a tortilla with sugar free cream cheese cinnamon roll…Im talking CINNAMON ROLL, like from a paper tube, probably has GMO’s so much gluten it looks like slime when you dangle it, sticks to EVERYTHING cinnamon roll. If that’s what you’re looking for, this cinnamon roll, this might be for you too!! It is absolute perfection. The cream cheese frosting is delicately swiped across the top of the bun with the perfect hint of sweetness. The roll itself was perfectly cooked, light and flakey, with the just the right amount of delicious cinnamon filling. (Which is also the warm scent that enevelops you as you enter the bakery). The roll pulls apart easily (I like to un roll mine) and is decadently soft once you reach the center. AND it’s NOT STICKY. Didn’t even need a napkin….coffee isn’t bad either, service is quick and the staff was nice. I wasn’t really paying attention to anything else after she handed me that beautiful box with that baking...
