The city should be ashamed of how they treat Haughville, and black and brown community of this city. I travel past this area "beach" daily Monday through Friday. Entering White River Pkwy is appalling. The median has not been repaired in years. There is pot holes in the median. Why don't the black community have walkways, sidewalks like the other areas of the city. We walk and exercise too! Why are there no trash bins/receptacles? Why are there soooo.... many potholes? You can't swim here, so, other than a historical marker with a bit of info, the view of the river is pretty much all there is to it. When I was there enjoying the view, one of the local idiots was busily tagging the remnants of the dam on the other side of the river with spray paint.
