This park has frequent community events and festivities (from "Friends of Belmont Beach," et al.) Nice picnic grounds. The "beach" is just a small patch of sand. Sidewalks now make it safe to get here from 16th Street as a pedestrian. Portable toilets are here in warmer months. The nearby rapids over the collapsed dam are both beautiful and deadly. There are plans to remove the dam debris, due to the extreme danger to any swimmers and small vessels at this point in the White River.

There was a lot of trash on the ground at this park. Do better park visitors, it's not that hard to clean up after yourself!

The city should be ashamed of how they treat Haughville, and black and brown community of this city. I travel past this area "beach" daily Monday through Friday. Entering White River Pkwy is appalling. The median has not been repaired in years. There is pot holes in the median. Why don't the black community have walkways, sidewalks like the other areas of the city. We walk and exercise too! Why are there no trash bins/receptacles? Why are there soooo.... many potholes? The city of Indianapolis can do better than this. The citizens of this community are tax payers too. Do not put up with this! Demand better from the city and government and hold them accountable for all people in the city, not just certain segments of the city. They need to...

Kind of bleak and trashy. Caught my eye driving by once so I stopped to check it out. You can't swim here, so, other than a historical marker with a bit of info, the view of the river is pretty much all there is to it. When I was there enjoying the view, one of the local idiots was busily tagging the remnants of the dam on the other side of the river with spray paint. So, the overall vibe is that of being in a high crime area - which is generally the case here. Not worth stopping. But, if you must, I'd be sure you have a wingman and a phone, and get out...

I didn't even know this place was here until recently, I pass by it often but it always looked like a bunch of construction stuff going on, But now I remember the spot from years ago, I'm not going to go into detail but let's just say before the dam collapse I spent some adult time with a GF there, But now that this is made into what it is I have suggestions on how to make it far better than it is but for now it's pretty cool little spot just don't get in the water unless you want to look like the...
