I've been coming to Ellenberger for years. Most of the park now is under construction due to digging for cleaner water, I guess. The park advertises that there are Orioles in the park, which I have seen, I don't know if there are anymore. It's still a nice, small park where I go when I need a walk. Lots of people come here off and on for various reasons, when the eclipse happened this year, it was packed and of course, I ventured there. For a smaller park, there are a lot of different attractions that are pretty nice and great. For example, the pool, which I have used to train for the Olympics several times. Keep in mind for you swimming aficionados, it is a 25m pool with one lane. They've got tennis and pickleball courts and even hold tournaments there, a very nice garden as well, along with an ok sized play grounds for kids. Personally, I'm great friends with the manager, Felisha, who's a wonderful woman, wife, mother, and of course, like I said, friend. She has shown me many times that the park incorporates new, lovely plants, as well as during the halloween season, they have a very in depth and well executed haunted house! They do have an indoor rink and tons of indoor events from soccer, to wrestling, and even in line skating! The park itself is also a great place to have a run, if you're not a slave to hitting your distances in a good time, like I am, or to once again, have a decent walk. When not under construction, the trail next to the park is a great system to use as well. Next to the main park building, there is art work from local artists. It's fun and engaging. It isn't fine art, but it's not bad to appreciate the effort. Keep in mind, as a professional artist, my standards are incredible high as far as the dilettante/ lay person/ hobbyist is concerned. There's also a market that occurs here, where vendors come and sell their goods. All in all, next time you want to create some me time, consider coming here for about at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, get engaged, and...
Read moreExcellent place to walk your dog play tennis and the swimming pool is great but the locker rooms and shower rooms are not cleaned and maintained properly. Summer farmers market but has become too big for the area it is using it should actually be in a high-traffic area designated in the park perhaps the football field baseball diamond with an access road should be used and not in the wooded area. Unfortunately vendors are allowed to drive in grassy areas too many cars parked along edges on grass through the grassy areas and tree roots La parking lots it's empty. Awesome Parkway system designed by Kessler is hosts many ancient trees very in a unique chain of parks and Parkways.. We are very fortunate to have these green spaces in the city like this. I just wish the park managers and authorities would take more thoughtful care of the...
Read moreIt's decent. My family goes for the pool. It's a nice size pool with a diving board and a wall climb. It also has a splash pad for smaller kids. However there are things I think they should do differently. Ppl do do the wall climb but majority of the time no one is climbing and they won't let you just swim even when nobody is climbing which is a waste of the pool. I honestly think along with a couple of life guards that they should remove it and add another diving board or a waterslide. One other thing I want pleased with is they have the splash pad on concrete where I feel it should be some type of rubber or something for when babies and smaller kids fall. Also they have a capacity limit of 175 that no one told us about until my sister and her kids couldn't get in. Other than that can't complain about a 🆓 park that...
