Today my wife and I went there to pick up food. We ordered ahead using doordash pickup. My wife stayed in the car and I went in. I went in and it was an old couple ahead of me so i wait. As im waiting i noticed him looking at me weird, but I paid it no mind. So its my turn to pick up the food and he says something about stepping outside. I could barely hear what he said over the music. So I seen that he tells a woman something (which i couldn't hear) behind the counter and he proceeded to come out from behind the counter and walked through the dining area. I got a weird feeling that he was talking to me so I ask, "Did you say go outside?" He says, "yes come outside." So as I'm following him I'm thinking, "why he wants to talk to me outside?" So we step into the passthrough and he ask what's my name. I told him call me CJ because that was the name of the doordash order. So he said, "Oh you're the doordash order?" I said, "yeah I am. Do you not remember me or something?" He said, "I couldn't tell who you were by having the mask on. I thought you were someone else that applied for a job here." Mind you we have always came in with our masks on and never took them off. I got a really weird vibe from that. My wife and I usually come in together but this time since we had ordered online I went in by myself to pick it up. He knows that my wife and I was coming in every week. Sometimes multiple times a week. Not once did we take our masks off and I never mentioned anything about trying to get employed there. So then he tells me something about ordering on their website instead of doordash because doordash takes 15% and you can choose what you want on the website. For some reason the online price total was cheaper vs. Coming in placing an order. So we step back in and I got our food and kept my composure and said, "Yall have a nice day." The food was always great until today. It just seemed like they did what they wanted today. Other than that we will not be back there again after...
Read moreStopped by this afternoon about 12:30 with my younger brother. This place is extremely small and parking could be an issue here. Table seating available and they were very busy. Order your food at the window and pay. Then serve your own soft drinks, they will bring the food to your table when it’s ready. I decided on the Chicago Polish Sausage with onion rings. And little brother tried the Belushi with French fries. The BELUSHI comes with Beef Chili, Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Chopped Onions. And the CHICAGO POLISH SAUSAGE is a 1/4 LB, ALL BEEF Polish Sausage with Mustard, Green Relish, Celery Salt, Chopped Onions, Tomatoes, Kosher Pickle, and Sport Peppers. They were both quite delicious. We both enjoyed our food. Hamburgers are also sold here we seen a couple other customers with burgers, they looked scrumptious as well. Will definitely return and little by little make my way through the wonderful menu. If you’re looking for a dog, Polish sausage or a down-home Burger. Hit the brakes, and pull in here you won’t be...
Read moreA GREAT meal at a no frills place selling everything that'll make you want to take a nap afterward.
The TV menus were a bit hard to read with the glare. The small font was also difficult to read. For instance, if you are standing in line trying to see what to order, it's difficult to do until you get close to the counter.
The service was great! The food was hot and fresh. The belushi polish dog has such a great flavor and they really packed on the toppings. I read that the Italian beef (dipped) is what to get and boy was it worth it! The beef had such a great flavor and the toppings were also packed on. The bread was chefs kiss. Though I do wish the bell peppers were sliced a bit thinner. But definitely recommend the Italian beef!
Where this gets 4 stars and not 5 is the onion rings. Unfortunately, the crunch wasn't there. The flavor was great and the sauce was fantastic. I just wish there was a great classic onion ring crunch.
If you're around,...
