Holcomb Observatory and Planetarium — Attraction in Indianapolis

Our family had a fantastic time observing the 4/8 total eclipse ! The sun and the moon played their parts flawlessly but the experience was so enjoyable because of the Holcomb Observatory staff.

Beautiful grounds kept clean and orderly throughout our visit. The activity tables, the Observatory, and the solar telescopes had friendly and informative volunteers.The master of ceremonies provided timely brief description and explanations in advance and even during the eclipse.

We took a 1st grade field trip here for the first time. Chase was in charge of our visit and did a wonderful job talking to the students, keeping it interesting, but not talking over their level of understanding. The movie, The Little Star That Could, was engaging, educational and the kids loved it. Awesome staff! We had a really large group (70+) and the three staff members handled it excellently and had a great sense of humor. The planetarium show is very informative and helps you realize just how special the total eclipse really is. We got to see three different views through the telescope. They have bathrooms onsite and lots of parking around the building and in nearby garages. Really cool!...
