This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hospital. EVER….and I have a real good amount of experience. I will NEVER recommend this hospital to anyone ever, and I do not normally feel compelled to leave a review, but I have to share my experience in case it may help others. First off, I never received any communication on surgery pre op, just the date. No pre op mailings at all. So I really came into my cancer surgery uninformed. Not that big of a deal as I can figure stuff out, but I can’t imagine for someone who has trouble with that type of situation. Absolutely no information post operation from doctors or multiple residents I believe all had knowledge of my case….Obviously someone should follow up in a reasonable amount of time after a major surgery to inform me, right? Nope. Not a one doctor dealing with my case stopped by nor was I talked to by any doctor post op or on rounds. Still have not seen a doctor post op and it’s been 15 hours at least since my surgery. I also had a MRI post surgery but the resident who ordered it didn’t respond to whether I needed IV contrast or not…SO I MADE THE CALL and said yes which I believe was right, but still not sure. Then, they make you share a room….no communication or choice on this. I would have chose a different location if possible had I known this. I was in shock upon discovering this POST OP WITH MY FAMILY AS I WAS WHEELED IN…..I did have a very nice roommate though. So, as you try to sleep in pain the best you can, nurses and multiple other people going in and out of your room at all hours for someone else. Which is necessary for my roommate and I totally understand that. The picture below is my room at 2:14 am with door open for 5 minutes which woke me. Now it’s 2:22 am and I had to call the nurse back because no one is coming by to silence the alarm on my roommate’s machine! I also feel horrible for my roommate as well because he is awaken every time I get meds or checked. Absolutely terrible service. I also snore when I’m extremely sleep deprived so it can’t be relaxing for him either. Update at 4:00 am (second photo) - now they are stopping to take my vitals, which is normal and both staff are very nice…but instead of drawing my blood out of the IV already in place, they had to draw it from my arm because the one staff isn’t allowed to out of the IV, yet the nurse was with my roommate and could have? Weird. Plus, waking my roommate as lights had to be turned on for the draw. Do not have an inpatient surgery done here if you have a choice. This is by far the most unprofessional and low grade experience ever…..and it’s only 2:30 am of my first night. Very poor quality of a patient experience. I will update more after discharge. So far, this system has billed my insurance over $700K with everything done. Now I know they negotiate lower rates but that’s what I know the top line dollar amount is because that figure is listed in my EOBs. You would think better service and accommodations could be had for that price.

1. Super long wait time; 2. Signs for speciality directions are absolutely confusing and inconsistent every time I visited. 3. The appointment is outsourced by the stupid and money-driven app Zocdoc. It sometimes overbooks patients with IU Health system and gets you kicked out before the appointment. Not patient-centered AT ALL!! 4. Parking SUCKS!

I did the IUI bundle package. I was told it included 4 ultrasounds. However they don't tell you it doesn't start till signed and ends day of IUI. (not written on contract) so only 1 ultrasound was counted. Total rip off. Would have been better to bill my insurance. my ultrasound are $280. So I have several to pay for.

This hospital in University Blvd is an absolute joke. I am from Northern Indiana and was told by the hospital up here to go to IU Health and get admitted to see the specialist faster ( if not it was a 6 month wait) so that's what we did. The ER is separate from the actual hospital. The ER was amazing, very prompt and answered all the questions we had. I did end up getting admitted because my numbers were bad in the blood work which I was expecting so I packed a bag before hand. They have to transfer u by ambulance to the actual hospital( no biggie) go to the hospital and u actually share a room(again no biggie) but u also share a shower with the room next door, that will come in later. The Dr who came in and got my at home med list from me and asked a ton of questions just acted like I was wasting her time. I have her all my at home meds and even showed her via MyChart and my pharmacy app what I was in and how often I take them. She was so annoyed because yes it was a lot. Well I was there from Saturday until Sunday when we decided I just needed to leave which was 24 hours and I was only given my home meds once and that's when I was first admitted. I kept asking and asking when I was gonna get them and the nursing staff said they would be back but never came back. The one time they did I was handed pills without anything to drink and had to ask 4 or 5 times for something to drink so I could take them and then the nurse got crappy cause I wanted something to drink to take them. I'm on pain meds at home every 4 to 6 hours as needed but my pain was terrible when I got there and they offered nothing else for break through pain since they made me wait so long and then was told I needed to just deal with it. In the middle of the night I was told I was in isolation without any reason why, which yea I did ask, and was still never told why. I had family that was coming down the next day but was told they couldn't visit and again I asked why and was never told why. They finally brought me a food tray, chicken sandwich, strawberries, French fries, well the bun in the chicken sandwich was moldy and so we're the strawberries and I was told when I called back to order something different I couldn't because I already ordered an entree and I told them what the problem was and they still said the same thing and sent up mashed potatoes, green beans and a bread stick. The mashed potatoes were so old and hard and the breadstick I could've used as a hammer to nail into the wall. The nursing staff told me if I didn't like it I could leave. I was also told I wouldn't be able to see any advanced specialist that it was basic care only and advanced was only done out patient and not in the actual hospital. None of my questions were answered and was just repeatedly told if I didn't like it to leave, so that's ultimately what I did. About the sharing of the shower about 15 mins before my husband arrived the gentleman from the room next to me came through the shower through my room butt naked and asked if I was gonna take a shower. Not to mention the temperature control was broken in my room and the room was well over 85 degrees. I would never ever recommend going to IU Health at least not in...

I delivered both of my daughters here. I love the maturity staff all around. I am at a very high risk during pregnancy and Dr. Padillia is a God sent from Heaven, I can't say enough good words about her. My first child was still born, a boy. I was seeing a doctor at Community East. When I got pregnant again, I went back to him. He did not do any kind of testing on me, at 28 weeks I started having contractions, just like with my son. I questioned him and he then reffered me to the Coleman Center. My first daughter I saw Dt. Brobowski, she is not there anymore, but as soon as I saw her she started all kinds of test on me to determine why I lost our son. Come to find our a blood clot got in the way of the placenta and the cord, ruputuring the cord. When I was 32 weeks I went in to full labor. She admitted me to the hospital, she was on vacation and was instructing another doctor. They monitored me for 2 days and gave me medicine to stop the labor. At 33 weeks, I went in to labor again, they doctor gave me an ultra sound and saw a blood clot near the cord, she said it would be best to deliver my daughter. Dr Bob agreed, the head of the department didn't and wanted to monitor me more. I got irate at this time, Needless to say we delivered her at 35 weeks, there were some complications but she is now 21 years of age. We then 3 years after she was born wanted to have another child. I saw another doctor for a year who tried oral drugs on me to get pregnant to no avail. We then saw a fertility doctor at the Coleman Center and started shots. On the first one we conceived our 2nd daughter. She is now 16. I then got pregnant when she was 4. At 11 weeks went for an ultra sound and there was no heart beat. I was going to miscarry. The walked me through what was about to happen and when it started, they were right there for me and my family. I will never in my life forget ALL they did for us and how good I was treated. I love this place. Without them I would not have my 2 angels or my sanity. Thank you all...
