New Post for Shadeland Avenue from 71st to 82nd street. I hope merchants, patrons, local leaders will try to get sidewalks on both sides of this 4-lane very busy street. Glad to see sidewalks along Hague Road a 2-lane road by 2 schools. However many need go to Community North, Heart Hospital, many different Doctor offices in and around those 2 hospitals and must walk to get there. Several times I've seen teens and adults walking along Shadeland either dangerously close to traffic or on the irregular landscape hard to do when wet or snowy. Sidewalks would make it easier for pedestrians to visit merchants at 75th and Shadeland as well as dentists, eye doctors and others from 71st and North from there. 71st has a wide walking trail that runs from Hague to Binford. Many merchants are near Binford and 71st. Many may not walk that distance but bicycles easily travel this trail and the Kroger near Binford is the nearest grocery since Marsh left a large empty building on 75th.
My favorite eatery at Shadeland Station is Chile Verde! Great Mexican Food! I wish the old abandoned Marsh location would be taken over by a decent grocery. Plenty of room for that and would benefit many who could walk there and don't have cars. If something like this doesn't happen soon I worry the entire area will suffer eventually. The Chase Bank branch there might love to help with that and enjoy the fruits of that development and...
Read moreThe main qualm I have about this center is the fact the shops frequently change and close down. The Dollar Tree and health food store are both good shopping choices. This complex is VERY service dog friendly. Have never had a problem bringing my service dog to this complex. The Dollar Tree is always well organized, friendly and well stocked. The pizza place is alright if you're in a pinch, but I wouldn't recommend it. The Subway is about your average Subway restaurant, nothing special about it. It's not really a place to go around and shop, especially with the Marsh closed but The Dollar Tree is a...
Read moreReally needs restoration, more stores to keep it afloat, and the overall traffic there is really just teens on the weekends getting into mischief, during the week it looks like its abandoned one minute or full during lunch rush for the Wendy's. Really only Wendy's and Dollar tree keep it going.
Parking lot is pot hole city, the lines for parking spots aren't too visible during the day or night.
Liquor store is ok, they have rude associates that aren't guaranteed to help you except for the manager she's sweet.
Definitely consider driving past this spot as it's not a happening...
