Chow Express — Restaurant in Indianapolis

We have been here 30-40 times before and have always been generally pleased. I say generally because the place has had pretty grumpy service from day one, but the food was good and continued to come back. Tonight we came back with our takeout and find out once at home that the chow mein, literally fried noodles according to Wikipedia and further confirmed by continuing experiences until tonight, was not as expected. We'll this dish is made up of white "fried" rice and vegetables with small strip of chicken. (Parents order). We go back and inform them of the crab rangoon they also forgot and ask them about the mistake of the main dish. They maintained what they had given us was the chx chow mein with fried rice that we had ordered. The fried rice should have been a side btw. Here is what my problem is. When a customer comes in dissapointed and expresses to you what they intended to order and show you a picture labeled with the name you ordered, the least you could do is remake whatever it is that the customer wanted. Especially when they know that we spend a fair amount of cash there. Perhaps more than we should, but they solved that expense...

Rude, Rude, Rude. Food is really great but their service is crappy. But last night the usually grumpy and over all lack luster attitude of the owner was turnt up a notch. The owner who watched us walk in and stand at the register for 5 minutes, went to deliver food to tables (which I understand), but when the phone started ringing to place a to go order he immediately ran to the register area (the phone sits next to the register) and answered, took, and placed the order to his cooks all before he even acknowledged us being there. When he finally came over to take our order the phone rang again and he again took the call and placed the order in before speaking to us. After he began to take our order the phone rang again, without skipping a beat he immediately answered the phone and started to place the customers order. At this point his disrespect was at an all time high so my family and I left. I don't care how good your food is, how much you make, where you come from, or what you look like nothing should be an excuse for treating paying customers like that. I genuinely hope their business thrives but will no longer have my family...

Ive been eating here since 2014, best chinese ive had in my life. I refuse to eat anywhere else. There has been times when it wasn't too good, but we're human. Anything is going to be hit or miss when you've had it enough. The good outweighs the few bad times a million! My food has been fresh more often than not. I've been around long enough to see the families kids transition from being around in the restaurant sometimes, to working behind the counter.The atmosphere is always quiet and pleasant. Being in the business of bashing a family owned business based off one or two bad experiences sucks. Was it bad or was it a projection of how you felt that day? I love this establishment and the free gladware to go with my order. I probably eat here once a month, and definitely recommend the chicken & broccoli! This is the best Asian food I've had any day...
