The Key Escape Rooms — Attraction in Indianapolis

I’ve been needing to post this Review, but I’m just now getting to it, lol. Also, I see that one of my Bridesmaids (Brittnee Thompson) has already posted her Review. 😊

I had my Bachelorette Party on Saturday, August 17th. It was me and my 4 Bridesmaids. We would’ve LOVED to have done this at night, but we were going Bar-Hopping, haha. Our Appointment was at 1pm. So, why not get scared during the day, right!? 😜

Anyways, this was MUCH MORE than what I was expecting. We did the “Wine Cellar Terror” Escape Room. They had told us that even though it wasn’t one if the most “scary” ones, it was one if the more harder ones.

I have done 2 Escape Rooms before — one at one place and the other at another place — both, of which, are NOT “related” to The Key Escape Rooms. At first, I thought it was just some scary escape room. NOPE! IT WAS MORE! While trying to find some clues and codes some of us got scared, haha. They would try and grab us (like our Hand/Ankle) and try to “break through” to get inside our escape room. Hell, that ACTUALLY happened! HA!

I DEF LOOOVED IT! I will DEF be telling people about the place! I will DEF be coming back for not ONLY to do more Escape Rooms (ESPECIALLY at night next time, lol), but I DEF want to check out their Haunted House this year (hopefully 🤞).

NOTE: It was HORRIBLY raining as we were heading there (and still was raining once we got inside). Not going to lie, the rain made a “perfect” beginning to a “scary” after afternoon, lol. 😉 Also, not going to lie, we did NOT make it. 😂 I want to say we MIGHT’VE gotten 3/4ths of the way done. 🤷‍♀️😅 Also, I found it awesome that one of the ladies (well, maybe both ladies) used to be from the Delphi / Carroll County area! Small World! 😊♥️

My family and I did The Hunted room and it was amazing. We aren’t very good at escape rooms, but enjoy them. Julie was our host and she was absolutely amazing w us. The atmosphere is scary with a lot of humor as well. Entering the building blindfolded is a little scary, but it sets you up for exactly what you’re there to do. The props are awesome, we had difficulty trying to put puzzles together but were given just the right amount of clues to move ahead. We did escape by the seat of our pants, and afterward Julie explained the background to this room and it’s amazing how this room is really based on true life events that have occurred. Julie is the owner and creator of the rooms, and has done an amazing job creating The Hunted room. We will be back to try and escape additional rooms. Had a great time and well worth the experience! We went to The Key back in June when in Indy for a work trip. The attention to detail in The Cabin was great. There is definitely a horror feel to it with the design and the actors roaming around the outside of the set (half distracting you, half helping you). It was quite challenging (even for veteran escape artists) for the four of us but we made it out with seconds to spare. If you are a Halloween fan this room is a must. I had an issue with booking through the online portal but I called and Julie helped me out and was a pleasure to work with. The employees here care about your experience and are really dedicated to putting on the best show that they can; they exceeded all expectations. If I'm ever back in Indy I'll definitely be stopping by The Key to try...
